"On Friday, April 25th 2014 I was having a vinyl floor installed at my house in my kitchen.  I have a bi-level single family home so my kitchen is right above my family room.  The flooring installers, American Carpet South, were nailing down underlayment and put a nail through one of my water pipes.  I walked downstairs and heard dripping so I ran and shut off the water and the ceiling was soaking wet.  I immediately came to Angie's List to look for plumbers to call and saw the good reviews that EFD had so I called them and the owner, Ed, answered after a couple of rings, I frantically told him that I was looking for someone to come out that day and see what happened.  He said that he could be here within an hour or two and he held true to his word.  He came in, took a look at the ceiling and then started to remove small pieces until he could clearly see that a nail from the flooring installers went through the water pipe.  He waited at our house until his crew arrived and they fixed it within 20 minutes.  Everyone was very professional and the work was high quality.  I would certainly call them again the next time I have a plumbing issue and recommend them to anyone else.

"John is very thorough, and he's accommodating for appointment times. I made my appointment months in advance but had to change close to the scheduled time due to a health issue. He called before he came here, arrived promptly, is careful and courteous and got the work done in a short time. "The windows were manufactured earlier than we expected and we were promptly contacted about installation. Although we were told the installation was scheduled for two days, the four man crew that arrived was able to finish in a single day! Each window was installed with the same consistency in quality and efficiency. Furthermore, the crew did an excellent job protecting our floors and furnishings in every room. When it comes to evaluating the installation crew, we couldn't be happier. Regarding price, we probably paid more than we should, but that's on us. We advise getting several other quotes first and then get Castle's quote. This will definitely help in your negotiating. The windows have definitely helped to eliminate draftiness in our home and helped to maintain a consistent temperature."

"The majority of the work was done well. During our time working with the company there was a change in leadership and staffing that slowed progress on the job so that it took them around a month to complete the originally contracted job. However, they were dedicated to only using staff who could complete a quality job. The owners were very responsive by phone, and would frequently come out to check on progress. If we expressed unhappiness about some of the work, they would send someone out to fix the job to the best of their ability. Their painting/plastering work was not especially great, we knew that they could not match the color, however, the patches were sloppy which was surprising given their name. I wish they would have used higher quality materials for the fixtures, but the best of Lowe's is what they used. However, we were allowed to select the fixtures ourselves and they would pick up the item. If we wanted higher quality, we would have had to research, purchase, and pick up the fixtures ourselves and they said that they would install the fixtures. After getting many estimates and working with other contractors, we would use and recommend them in the future, especially if they had settled their staffing/leadership issues."

"The plumber arrived at the specified time and went right to work diagnosing the problem,  He diagnosed the problem quickley and snaked out the drain.  Unfortunately, I had an additional problem with clogging shotly after the tech left & called lthe office.  They arranged for another tech to come out the next day and he found & fixed the left over problem within an  hour.  I would  definitely use McHales again & recommend them to anyone looking for a plumber.

Both techs left the bathroom clean (I scrubbed the toilet & shower after they left & it looks great!)"
