"I was looking to hire someone to lay down a new gravel drIveway and Absolute was the first to reach out and the best bang for my buck. Kieth and his team stayed focused at the task at hand. They were all very open to any concerns and readily corrected or went with the flow of any changes during the project. Awesome and very pleased with the final product."

"The crew was a bit sloppy when Joe wasn't around, but he had them return to re-do a few places and clean off areas where the concrete/mortar should not have been placed. There wasn't anything than couldn't be fixed."

"The process went mostly smoothly. The initial estimate was done, but after having several estimates, it became clear there was a math error from TPC, but Ramone came out quickly to fix it. We picked our granite, and Ramone was very understanding when I had to repeatedly reschedule due to an injury I had sustained when building and installing the cabinetry (nothing too serious). The team had to review our kitchen again to ensure everything would fit as expected, as they were not sure if they were going to be able to have the grain flow in the same direction throughout the kitchen. Unfortunately, that led to TPC rescheduling with us, which they communicated poorly. However, they did a great job when they came out, and were very professional and courteous."

"Just had my gravel trap done by Green Spade LLC and I couldn?t be happier! They were super professional from start to finish ? showed up on time, worked efficiently, and the end result looks amazing. The attention to detail really shows, and they left everything clean and tidy when they finished. It?s exactly what I wanted and honestly turned out even better than I expected. Highly recommend them if you want quality work done right the first time!"

"Frank Correa and his crew were great to work with. Final price matched his estimate which I considered very reasonable considering all the demo work, prep, and final pouring of the driveway and finish work. They were careful not to damage the inground sprinkler system running along the driveway on both sides and cleaned up when the job was done. Also, Frank recommended the install of a drain pipe (at no charge) under the new driveway to avoid water damage over the years from a home downspout. We have received several compliments on the new driveway from our neighbors and others. I recommend hiring MVC Concrete and Stone Construction for your project."

"I initially just called Mr. Martinez to clean out our flower beds, but when he came to give me an estimate we started discussing that my husband and I were getting ready to sell our house. Being very familiar with make ready work for real estate, he suggested some other things his crew could also do around the house (things we needed done anyway, like replacing the fence and power-washing the house), and gave us a terrific deal on everything. Mr. Martinez and his crew did fast, thorough, complete work and we were extremely pleased. The fence in particular was very well done, and was *not* an easy job by any means.

FAQs for gravel or loose fill paving install, spread or scrape projects in Rosston, TX

To calculate how much pea gravel you need for your project, multiply the length, width, and depth of the area you want to cover to find the volume in cubic feet. Then, divide that number by 27 to convert it to cubic yards to determine the amount of pea gravel you need.

A yard of pea gravel weighs about 1.3 tons or 2,600 pounds. Keep in mind that wet gravel weighs more than dry, and different types of gravel can vary in weight. For example, due to its density, river rock weighs significantly more than crushed stone and pea gravel.

The ideal depth for pea gravel depends on the type and size of your project. You'll need at least two to three inches for walkways and patios and a minimum of six inches for driveways to support heavy vehicles and prevent shifting over time. Aim for a depth of three to four inches in decorative garden beds or drainage areas.

Pea gravel is attractive, versatile, and low-maintenance. It provides excellent drainage, making it ideal for pathways, driveways, and garden beds. On the downside, its sharp texture isn't ideal for bare feet, and it can be challenging to weed or remove once installed. It can also shift underfoot without proper edging, creating an uneven surface.

Alternative landscaping materials you can use instead of pea gravel include wood chips, decomposed granite, crushed stone, pebbles, quartz, mulch, sand, and river rock. These materials offer different aesthetics, performance, and costs, so it’s important to do your research to determine which one best fits your landscape design and budget.

Many homeowners choose pea gravel because it requires minimal upkeep compared to other landscaping materials. You'll need to rake it occasionally to redistribute the stones and maintain an even surface. Pros also recommend installing weed barrier fabric beneath the gravel to prevent unwanted growth, although some weeds may still appear over time.
