He was going to just reuse the wiring instead of replacing it but went ahead and replaced it as I asked. There was a bit of back and forth on whether they would tighten the springs which were insufficiently wound, but they did in the end. I would work with them again. I'd prefer full discussion on what they can do to finish the requested job first."
