"My garage door would not close and was stuck open with both cables on either side of the door unspooled from the drum and essentially locking the door at 3ft open. I used Angi to look up nearby contractors and A1 came up. They contacted me very quickly and when I acknowledged I needed service, they were on site within the hour! The end result is that they repaired my issue so that I can use the door again. To get to that point - they walked me through what they planned to do. Midway through the repair, they did ask to meet with me to recommend fully replacing all bars, springs, cables and tracks (for about $1600-$1800), but I declined as I was not ready to make that large a decision and may want to change the garage door in the future. There was a bit of back and forth on whether they would tighten the springs which were insufficiently wound, but they did in the end. I would work with them again. I'd prefer full discussion on what they can do to finish the requested job first."

He quoted a price that was several hundred dollars less than a quote I had from another Angies list company for 2 openers, the current equivalent 1/2 model to the one I was having replaced. The units Jeff quoted were an upgrade to the model I had.
I scheduled an installation and Jeff and Shawn arrived promptly for the install and explained that the 3/4 horse model was on sale and they were installing them for the price they had originally quoted. I was thrilled! The install went well and they even included 4 remotes with the deal.
They were both very professional and personable and overall it was a very wonderful experience and i'm not easily thrilled.

"Good value. Garage door opener works like a dream. Only a couple of things on the â negativeâ side I will mention. The old garage door opener that was replaced had lightbulbs in it. They were not taken out and installed into the new garage door opener so I had to grab a couple of new lightbulbs. Also, more important, the cord that ordinarily hangs down from the opener that can be pulled to allow the door to close when there is no electricity, is missing. I will check with the company to see if I can get one from it."
