"As always, the service was done in a complete and professional way. Air Systems installed our system five years ago and we have had them come back each year to provide maintenance to keep our system clean and working well. The cost for this service includes a spring AC maintenance and a fall heating maintenance and is well worth their reasonable fee. I would certainly recommend them for all heating and air conditioning service and repair."

"Beautifully. They arrived a little ahead of schedule. Very clean, polite and professional. They answered all of my questions, and left the grounds as clean as they were when the crew arrived. I'm VERY pleased with the product and the service!"

"Joe responded to my home quickly, within 30 minutes after I called, and gave me options for the repair. He was done with the repair after about 10 minutes and payment was easy as he had options for that too. I would highly recommend Air Pros of SA and will use them again for future needs."

"Sammy gave me a quote to replace the motor. Another place gave quotes on buying a whole system but Sammy didn’t try to sell me on unnecessary packages or try to upsell me on unnecessary services. Just replaced the motor quickly and now I have a working ac. Thank you!"

"Great service and support in my AC. I did not like the price for the repair (temp work around is in place for a friend to assist), but got my service done since I was behind on that. Would recommend"

FAQs for central a/c service or repair projects in San Antonio, TX

A condenser fan motor is a crucial part of your air conditioner that prevents the compressor from overheating. It pulls heat from your AC unit to cool the refrigerant moving through the condenser coils. This allows your system to blow cool air and keeps everything running smoothly.

The most common causes of AC fan motor failure include loss of lubricant in the system due to overheating and a rusted or leaking run capacitor. Poor lubrication can also cause failure in the belt drive, which may impact the AC fan motor. Weather and electrical components can also affect your AC. For example, a storm could send water into your motor windings and damage the internal components.

Air conditioner fan motors last about 12 years on average, though they can last longer if maintained well. This includes keeping them clean and cooled as needed with annual air conditioner checkups. Routine maintenance is essential to catch AC fan issues early. An HVAC inspection can cost between $70 and $500, while AC cleaning services may range from $100 to $400.

A broken AC fan motor may need replacement because this part usually can’t be repaired. Several things indicate it’s time to replace your AC fan motor, including buzzing noises, a constantly running fan, unusually high energy bills, or an aging system. If you notice these signs, call an HVAC pro for help before the faulty motor starts to strain other parts of the AC system.

There are clear warning signs of a bad AC fan motor, including unusual interruptions in the fan operation. The motor might be malfunctioning if you hear weird noises like grinding or rattling or if the fan continues to spin when the unit is off. These indicators compromise your AC’s cooling performance and increase your energy costs. Addressing these issues immediately by contacting a trusted HVAC professional prevents further damage and safeguards your HVAC's efficiency.

Replacing your AC fan motor takes a professional one to four hours. The technician will start by assessing your system and safely removing the damaged motor. If a new part needs to be ordered, it might take a few days. Once the part is available, your pro will install it properly and make sure your system is running smoothly.
