"We needed to relocate a gas mainline and meter to allow for us to build a pool in our yard. This project required work to be completed by both SW Gas (Responsible for the mainline running through our back yard and the meter) and a plumber who could re-plumb our interior gas line to hook up to the new meter location. This was no simple task. Coordinating between SW Gas, their third-party contractor, our plumber, and the City of Tempe for permits and inspections seemed like a recipe for a construction nightmare. Let me say thank goodness for Phend Plumbing! I'm so glad I was working with Phend through this process. First, Mike was a fantastic plumber to work with. He was always punctual, very professional, and passionate about his work. Because of the complexity of the job, I ended up contacting the office a few dozen times. Both Myka and Laurel (Sorry if I'm spelling your names wrong) were fantastic to work with! They were super friendly and always quick to act whenever an issue came up. To say there were no issues with the job would be a lie. There were TONS of problems, and they were always caused by the City of Tempe, SW Gas, or their contractor. Thankfully, we had Phend to solve the issues. Oh, and anyone wondering about price. Here is the best part! Because of the size of the project, we obtained three bids. Phend was the most professional bid and provided us with the best rate. I don't typically write reviews, but Phend went so far beyond my expectations it would be negligent for me not to. Phend will be my go-to plumber, and I strongly encourage anyone seeking a plumber to reach out to them for a bid. You won't be disappointed!"

"I was quoted $150 an hour for 2 people to come do the work. Only one showed up yet he charged me $125 an hour and acted like he was doing me a favor. He said the other worker was just a helper. He couldn’t hook up one of the faucets because of the angle of the pipes but my handyman was able to do it with a flexible pipe without any problem."

"Tim was referred by the contractor who had worked on the remodel of the house before we bought it. He was courteous, knowledgeable professional and straight talking. I may have been able to find someone to charge less for the work, but you can't put a price on peace of mind. I knew upon meeting him that he'd do the job well and that he had integrity. I was not disappointed. I'll recommend Just Plumbing to anyone who asks. <br />"

"Everything couldn't have gone better in either of the condos.  This work was done over multiple days and was coordinating with other contractors.  Everyone I have dealt with at API has been extremely professional, helpful and courteous.  I would recommend API to anyone looking for a plumbing contractor. <br> <br>"

"Called provider and a quote of $1175 for the installation of a propane was given. (Did not quote tax was additional, which was another $82). Provider had a more knowledgable person call later. That individual said they set tank only and did not run the gas lines and provided 3 names of gas plumbers to do lines. Of the 3 names, 1 did not call back and a 2nd phone number was no longer in service. The 3rd number gave a quote to install line. I had quotes from other companies that would install both for about $1750. I chose Acorn because their time line was closer to what I was looking for. However, the combined costs was over 24% higher. I had to call Acorn on the scheduled day of install to get an approximate time. They said between 11am and noon, but said they would call when they were on the way. They did not call and showed up around 2pm. They left trash on the ground from the install. I am not overly pleased with the higher cost and the marginal service. <br /> <br />"

FAQs for gas piping projects in San Manuel, AZ

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
