"Jim and his partner were very professional and informed me of the work they would be performing. Old drain pipes were replaced along with clearing out the cast iron pipe still going to the main drain under the house. I am very pleased with the work and the professional attitude they shown. Thank you for a great job."

"Mike called on Monday morning said he could do it sooner and came right over.  He had to drill out a section under my sink to remove the pipe and the corresponding pipe downstairs.  Quite a section.  He ran out and bought the new pipe and installed it and was gone in a very few hours.  He kept me posted as to what he was doing and I have nothing but nice things to say.  Linda and her Dad have been my plumbers for about 30 years so I only have good things to say about them.  THEY TAKE CARE OF ME!! <br />"

"Provider was prompt, professional and friendly.  Arrived at the agreed upon time for a free estimate and performed work same-day after we agreed to the price.  He stuck to the price despite taking longer than expected and more work than usual due to worn-rusted pipes in my home.  Cleaned-up after himself and left no sign that work was done other than our new, working toilets.  We are very pleased and reccomend McDonagh & Sons Plumbing & Sewer Inc. <br /> <br /> <br />"

"Brandon was quick to respond to my first phone call, and was out the next day to repair two toilets and fix a broken tub faucet. He worked very quickly, cleaned up after himself, and his final charge was within $5 of his phone estimate. I was so impressed we brought him back to install a new dishwasher the next week. And just like the first job, he was quick, clean, and within $5 of his phone estimate. I look forward to Heartland Plumbing helping with any other plumbing issues I encounter! <br />"

"Jim came out and performed a diagnostic check of our 30 year old <br /> furnace. I had an AL coupon for the service. Jim was punctual, <br /> professional and explained in detail what was going on. I hope to <br /> purchase a new furnace from them asap. <br />"

"The employee was prompt and professional.  He was at our house for nearly an hour.  He showed me the water heater system we currently have and explained its ins and outs. <br /> He then reviewed the 3 different types of water heaters that they have available for installation.  <br /> The prices were a bit higher than we anticipated.  We chose to go with another local company. <br /> <br />"

FAQs for gas piping projects in Sandwich, IL

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
