"This was a VERY small job, had an existing chair pad that matched some curtains and the padding was shot. Cushion was repaired with better than original padding in a timely, professional and cost effective manner."

"I was very impressed with every aspect of the work. The crew that came to removed the doors did it quickly and installed plywood to secure the house in a way that didn't damage the frame. The doors were stripped very quickly and I was asked to come choose the stain color and give helpful advice. The doors were finished and replaced very quickly. <br /> When I noticed that the lock had been installed upside down, a man was sent out the next morning to fix it. <br /> The doors look great and the team at Ballard Refinishing were easy to work with."

"Second time I have used Revive. Called on Monday, they came out on Thursday. Showed up on time, measured and gave me a quote and went to work. Courteous and considerate of our kids and dogs being in the house while they performed the work. Completed all work in the time they had estimated. Results? Wow. Carpet had not been professionally cleaned in about 4 years and they were able to make it look great again. The real eye opener was the couch, love seat and ottoman. Kids and dogs had been rough on them and I was considering just replacing the entire set. We discussed if they could be saved and in the end we decided to try having them cleaned and see what happened. One week later I am still amazed at how clean they are, as if they are new again. Not only do they look clean but they are soft again. I was definitely impressed! <br />"

"Pioneer Woodworks was involved with the project from the beginning with advice, shop drawings, client meetings etc. The result was beautiful cabinets at a fair price. The architect was very impressed! Also delivered on time!"

"Over the years, I have had about 20 chairs repaired by Rick and a couple of tables. He is very responsible and does a good job. Caning is not inexpensive; it takes a lot of hand work, which takes time. If the furniture is painted, he will match the paint, if necessary, and touch up the paint."

"Excellent. The existing floors are 30 years and had several small areas of water damage. The damage boards were replaced and the floor was refinished in a very timely. They look better than they ever have. I couldn't be any happier with the job. Alex, the owner, David, the general manager, the Paul, the sales manager, and Sergei and his refinishing crew were responsive immediately to all my concerns in the most professional and friendly way with clear communication and clarity regarding the job from the time of the bid to moving the furniture back at the end of the job. Juan did a great in restretching the carpet. In addition, the bid was very competitive. In addition"

"Very professional and great to work with. They did a beautiful job refinishing the couch and consulted with us on every little detail. They have done some previous refinishing work for us and it has been a great experience every time. They are expensive, but in my view it's worth the extra expense to work with someone you know will do a great job. (note that the cost includes the upholstery fabric, which is also expensive) <br />"

FAQs for furniture refinish projects in Seattle, WA

A complete table refinishing project requires between four and eight days from start to finish. The actual hands-on work takes between two and 10 hours, with the remaining time dedicated to drying periods between applications. The stripping and sanding phases demand the most active labor, while applying finishes requires patience as each layer dries completely before proceeding.

Several elements influence dining table refinishing costs, with size being the primary factor. Larger tables or those with extensions require more materials and labor time. The wood type matters significantly—hardwoods may need specialized treatment compared to softer woods. The table's current condition also impacts pricing, as damaged surfaces need repairs before refinishing can begin.

Refinishing often proves more economical than purchasing a comparable quality replacement. Professional table refinishing costs between $150 and $400 on average, while preserving the original craftsmanship and character of your piece.

This approach makes particular sense for well-constructed wood furniture that would be expensive to replace with similar quality. For sentimental pieces or antiques, refinishing also maintains their history and personal value.

Professional furniture refinishers charge between $40 and $100 per hour for their services. This rate varies based on geographic location, the refinisher's experience level, and the complexity of the project. Some professionals offer project-based pricing rather than hourly rates, especially for standard-sized pieces like coffee tables or end tables. When requesting quotes, ask whether the estimate includes materials or represents labor costs only.

For tables with minor wear, you can sometimes refresh the appearance without complete stripping and sanding. Using gel stains and wipe-on finishes can address surface issues while preserving the existing finish underneath. This approach works best for tables with light cosmetic damage rather than those with deep scratches or damaged finishes. However, proper stripping and sanding remain necessary for comprehensive restoration or significant color changes for professional-quality results.
