"Jim and his partner were very professional and informed me of the work they would be performing. Old drain pipes were replaced along with clearing out the cast iron pipe still going to the main drain under the house. I am very pleased with the work and the professional attitude they shown. Thank you for a great job."

"Linda was great. She asked that I show her all of the plumbing involved and asked for as much information about the situation as I could. After a burst pipe in the cold winter of 2014 (which we fixed on our own), our shower was still not working. Linda assessed the situation quickly, had the necessary part with her, and fixed it in  short amount of time. I think she took less than an hour total, and the shower is working great. Linda was fast, friendly and knowledgeable. I hope we have no further problems in the plumbing area, but if we do, I know who to call."

"Provider was prompt, professional and friendly.  Arrived at the agreed upon time for a free estimate and performed work same-day after we agreed to the price.  He stuck to the price despite taking longer than expected and more work than usual due to worn-rusted pipes in my home.  Cleaned-up after himself and left no sign that work was done other than our new, working toilets.  We are very pleased and reccomend McDonagh & Sons Plumbing & Sewer Inc. <br /> <br /> <br />"

"The crew of 3 showed up to work at 8 as promised. We over viewed the work we had discussed on his estimate appointment. <br /> It took them roughly 5 hours from start to finish. Overall they installed supply lines for a bathroom: Sink, Toilet and built the supply for the shower. We had the rough in drains/vents already. They installed supply lines for a wet bar sink and drain/vent just outside the bathroom area. <br /> He did all of the wet wall work first and got the area ready before shutting off the water. The supply to our house was only off for a total of about 30 minutes. <br /> He was very courteous answered all of my questions. When he was finished he walked my wife through all the work that they had done as well as took some pictures and sent them to me. <br /> All copper piping was used and although I haven't been able to test the lines yet (due to construction not being finished) it is not leaking and everything appears in order. <br />"

"Customer Service is hands down the best of all the companies I called to get estimates from. <br /> Called in the morning to get an estimate and Debbie was able to come out later that day. They showed up on time and didn't reschedule which other contractors were guilty of. Price was very competitive. After a few days, she called me back to see if I had any questions. None of the other contractors called back. As my townhome was right on the bubble of a 2.5 ton or 3 ton a/c, i had called to tell her I was looking at getting a 3 ton and she upgraded my equipment from the 2.5 ton from the estimate to the 3 ton free of any up charge. She also honored a coupon that was meant to expire but was still showing up on Angie's list. I am very satisfied with the value I got with Brian and Sons. <br /> Installation was completed in 5 hours. After using the air conditioning for a week, the equipment seems to be working effectively. I do have some constructive criticism for the installers: first, I was reading how important it is for the air conditioning unit to be sitting level. I would expect that an actual level be used rather than by eyeballing it. I do not know if it is necessary or if other contractors would do this. Also, the thermostat was installed crooked, again I would expect them to level this properly as now I have to take it off and level it myself. Other than that, the install was completed professionally, looks clean, great sheet metal work to cover up old removed humidifier, and the guys were honest and easy to work with. <br /> I will continue to use Brian and Sons for my maintenance and service calls. <br />"

FAQs for gas piping projects in Sheridan, IL

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
