He came over and looked at the job and let us know what he thought would be the best way to repair it. We got his bid with in a couple of days. We were very impressed by his knowledge and his price. He did a great job taking out the old grout and putting the new grout to match the rest of the patio. I would definitely recommend him. It’s nice to see someone who takes pride in their job! "I have used About Green twice in the past 3 years. Our backyard has a lot of trees and very tall tree-type hedges. Since it was a major part of the reason we bought the home, we want to maintain the health of the landscaping back there. Vince and his team scaled and thinned/trimmed a couple very tall redwood trees, removed an unhealthy leaning tree and trimmed/maintained many other trees on our property. Vince is a pleasure to work with and very friendly. He is extremely knowledgeable in all of the trees that we have and suggests what service to do on each type of tree based on his knowledge of each. He explains it very clearly to us who don't know much about the subject. His work is quality and his goal is 100% customer satisfaction. On this last visit, they spent a few hours trimming a tree-type hedge and when I came home from work, I wanted it around 3 feet lower. Even though it meant repeating the work for a few hours, Vince did it without any argument. To me, that was a true test of customer satisfaction. They complete the work in a timely manner, over a 2 day period. They cleaned up the yard like new and disposed of a ton of trimmings (never seen so much in my life). I never even consider another tree service besides About Green. I plan to have him come out after summer to suggest some landscaping ideas as I haven't used him for that before.."

"Nato and his team were prompt, professional, and worked at a very reasonable price. He was not much for providing a detailed written contract, which made me very anxious. However, he was a good as his word and met his schedule as promised. The job required 10 circuits on a double lot filled with mature and dense landscaping and lots of pathways to cross under. We were impressed - in fact surprised - with how it was all done with minimal disruption to the plantings and it was almost invisible when it was complete. Well done, Nato!"

"We found Federal Paving Systems and Jose Argueta through Angie's List. Jose was formerly with a different paving company in San Leandro, so some of his references were found there. Of the three bids we received, Federal was the best, so that, combined with excellent references here, gave Federal the job. Jose Argueta is the point man and Construction Manager for Federal. We have nothing but praise for his responsiveness and professionalism during this whole process. The job was completed over about four working days, and Jose was on site a good portion of the time directing the work of others, as well as cutting and laying pavers."

"They were wonderful. They were on time, the estimate in the contract were absolutely what we expected to pay and they in fact threw in some things that other vendors did not. He sent out a crew and they were extremely professional. They did the job in three days. "You could eat off the pavers in the akin that the place so clean." The Pea brothers were on time, answered all of my concerns, were easy to communicate with and did a professional job. They came in and expanded our driveway an additional 30 feet towards the back of our house as well as laying a walkway to the mother-In-law basement. We got exactly what we asked for, and they even finished ahead of schedule. I would highly recommend them and would definitely hire them again if I ever have another concrete project I need done."

The pool related tasks were of very high quality, but the concrete deck work was sub-par, including excessive cracking, poor color matching and poor quality sealing of concrete that resulted in a lot of white haze on the deck (my guess is that the sealer was drying before they applied it). 

It was very difficult to get hold of anyone who knew what was going on with respect to the schedule.  There was a lot of wasted weeks between activities with no apparent explanations.  Overall, frustrating to work with, though again, the quality of the pool work was great (tile, plaster, plumbing, new equipment install).

"Les Nichols had many discussions with us about ways to repair/replace our retaining wall.  Work was delayed, first on our part, then on his.  He called us more than a few times during our delays to touch base, reconfirm our plans, etc.  The work involved discussions with the city engineer, and the owners of the lot behind ours.  Les took care of all of this on our behalf.  The two workers that were here daily were great.  His prices were reasonable, and he was exceptionally good to deal with.  The new wall looks great.  I was impressed that on the last day, Les himself came to clean up, sweep up, restack our fire wood, and generally got things back in order.  We would not hesitate to work with him again."
