"Frustrated by the pricing: much higher than others and continual surprises (e.g., exorbitant charge for delivery; price per hour of onsite touch-up kept increasing; minimum charge for on site touch-up was not explained, etc). Quality of the repairs, especially the chest, was very good."

"Although he remained on budget the work was late and not satisfactory. Admittedly, the pieces were intricate but the job was beyond his ability. He should have known this and admitted such at the outset. However, part of the fault lies with me because I went with the lowest bidder and should have known better. Willy was cordial and kept us updated on project status and discounted his bill based on the delayed delivery."

"Very professional and great to work with. They did a beautiful job refinishing the couch and consulted with us on every little detail. They have done some previous refinishing work for us and it has been a great experience every time. They are expensive, but in my view it's worth the extra expense to work with someone you know will do a great job. (note that the cost includes the upholstery fabric, which is also expensive) <br />"

"Trickett Woodworks built us an awesome built-in bookcase and cabinets for our living room which are good quality and made the room much nicer and more functional. Trickett was really responsive to all my questions via phone calls and emails, and we actually got lucky with scheduling and had the project installed a couple weeks earlier than expected. I would definitely hire them again for any other carpentry/furniture projects."

"They did a stellar job on refinishing the hutch. It was a fussy job and it came back just flawless. The cleaning and waxing turned out well. The cleaning and waxing also looked great. The base they made was cruder than I expected. I thought that it would be sturdier than it was. The 2 small repairs worked fine. In looking over the receipt, I just realized that they charged me to $220 to touch up the legs on the chair that they glued, but they never did the touchup work. <br /> It took them a lot longer to do the work than they said it would. I wasn't in a hurry, though. They had me come out to choose the stain for the refinished cabinet and I was disappointed to see my other furniture covered in a thick layer of wood dust, with other items stacked on top of it. I asked them to clean it and move it away from the busy area they put it in. Everything came back undamaged, though, so I guess it looked worse than it was. <br /> The work they did was outstanding, but the process wasn't perfect. <br />"

"Very nice estimator came to the house. Price seemed very reasonable. Bid arrived, I signed it and returned via email. Heard nothing for nearly a month. Called, spoke with owner, who said he'd follow up. Re-sent signed bid. Finally get an email, explaining that technician who refinishes furniture had quit, so work could not be done. Nice folks, but took nearly 2 months to be told to go elsewhere. This review is for the sole purpose of noting that as of this writing (12/2017), NHance is not set up to refinish furniture."

"Amazing results! Our 23 year old cabinets were in need of restoration. Tracy demonstrated the process on one door and we were convinced. LJ did the restoration work in the promised 2 days. Our cabinets look new and we could not be more pleased with the prompt professional service."

FAQs for furniture refinish projects in Spanaway, WA

A complete table refinishing project requires between four and eight days from start to finish. The actual hands-on work takes between two and 10 hours, with the remaining time dedicated to drying periods between applications. The stripping and sanding phases demand the most active labor, while applying finishes requires patience as each layer dries completely before proceeding.

Several elements influence dining table refinishing costs, with size being the primary factor. Larger tables or those with extensions require more materials and labor time. The wood type matters significantly—hardwoods may need specialized treatment compared to softer woods. The table's current condition also impacts pricing, as damaged surfaces need repairs before refinishing can begin.

Refinishing often proves more economical than purchasing a comparable quality replacement. Professional table refinishing costs between $150 and $400 on average, while preserving the original craftsmanship and character of your piece.

This approach makes particular sense for well-constructed wood furniture that would be expensive to replace with similar quality. For sentimental pieces or antiques, refinishing also maintains their history and personal value.

Professional furniture refinishers charge between $40 and $100 per hour for their services. This rate varies based on geographic location, the refinisher's experience level, and the complexity of the project. Some professionals offer project-based pricing rather than hourly rates, especially for standard-sized pieces like coffee tables or end tables. When requesting quotes, ask whether the estimate includes materials or represents labor costs only.

For tables with minor wear, you can sometimes refresh the appearance without complete stripping and sanding. Using gel stains and wipe-on finishes can address surface issues while preserving the existing finish underneath. This approach works best for tables with light cosmetic damage rather than those with deep scratches or damaged finishes. However, proper stripping and sanding remain necessary for comprehensive restoration or significant color changes for professional-quality results.
