"My garage door would not close and was stuck open with both cables on either side of the door unspooled from the drum and essentially locking the door at 3ft open. I used Angi to look up nearby contractors and A1 came up. They contacted me very quickly and when I acknowledged I needed service, they were on site within the hour! The end result is that they repaired my issue so that I can use the door again. To get to that point - they walked me through what they planned to do. Midway through the repair, they did ask to meet with me to recommend fully replacing all bars, springs, cables and tracks (for about $1600-$1800), but I declined as I was not ready to make that large a decision and may want to change the garage door in the future. There was a bit of back and forth on whether they would tighten the springs which were insufficiently wound, but they did in the end. I would work with them again. I'd prefer full discussion on what they can do to finish the requested job first."

"The entire job went very well and exceeded my expectations. Given the large size of the garage door, I was worried about how much the total cost of the repair and opener installation would be. But they arrived on schedule to repair my door and get it operational again, gave me a very fair quote for the opener installation and we scheduled for about a week later for the opener to be installed. The opener is a better model than I expected for the price, and it was done quickly and there were no hidden costs afterwards. Given how high everything is mounted above the floor (about 16 feet), I was impressed it was done so quickly and there weren't any delays. I would hire them again."
