"Isaiah, the service technician from Ray’s, did routine annual maintenance on my central air. My prior contractor retired and I had not had this done in a couple of years. Isaiah was through and answered my questions and concerns. I will be happy to use Ray’s services again."

"Technician ( Mike McCabe) was friendly, courteous , excellent & professional. The service was provided on the next day after I called. They kept me informed concerning their arrival. The price for the repair ( including a Senior Discount + A $50 OFF coupon ) still did seem a bit high for the amount of work done, but I am not sure what the going rates are. Please note that Gold Medal was the ONLY company to respond to my request. I have used them a number of times in the past and my remarks above were fairly in line with past services. Overall, was very satisfied with the service."

"I feel confident in Ryan and Sons’ knowledge and expertise in caring for my 250-year-old house. They have serviced my water softener, hot water heat, furnace, as well as performed other services that come up in an old house. "they got to my home when they said they would. the tec check out my ac unit ,he said i needed a relay he replaced it and the unit ran the same as before. he would not reinstall the old relay even though the new one did not make my unit work. he said the unit was low on coolant how did he know that when the unit would not keep running? i am mad at myself for not speeking up enough when the tec was at my home. he did not give me a bill, I still do not know what i was charged. After my service call a manager called me. We spoke for some time and he agreed with me and give me a credit for the service call. A hired them to install my new AC system. Two men came on a Saturday they worked very well togeather they installed the new system and cleaned up after them self. I am very pleased with there work. The new system works great. And the price was inline with other AC companys."

"They installed AC in our 1923 house back in 2006 and our AC bills are lower than our heat! Excellent courteous clean work. This past spring the fan motor for this system died and because of it’s design was an expensive repair but again the work was done fast and clean. Highly recommended!"

FAQs for central a/c service or repair projects in Stanhope, NJ

A condenser fan motor is a crucial part of your air conditioner that prevents the compressor from overheating. It pulls heat from your AC unit to cool the refrigerant moving through the condenser coils. This allows your system to blow cool air and keeps everything running smoothly.

The most common causes of AC fan motor failure include loss of lubricant in the system due to overheating and a rusted or leaking run capacitor. Poor lubrication can also cause failure in the belt drive, which may impact the AC fan motor. Weather and electrical components can also affect your AC. For example, a storm could send water into your motor windings and damage the internal components.

Air conditioner fan motors last about 12 years on average, though they can last longer if maintained well. This includes keeping them clean and cooled as needed with annual air conditioner checkups. Routine maintenance is essential to catch AC fan issues early. An HVAC inspection can cost between $70 and $500, while AC cleaning services may range from $100 to $400.

A broken AC fan motor may need replacement because this part usually can’t be repaired. Several things indicate it’s time to replace your AC fan motor, including buzzing noises, a constantly running fan, unusually high energy bills, or an aging system. If you notice these signs, call an HVAC pro for help before the faulty motor starts to strain other parts of the AC system.

There are clear warning signs of a bad AC fan motor, including unusual interruptions in the fan operation. The motor might be malfunctioning if you hear weird noises like grinding or rattling or if the fan continues to spin when the unit is off. These indicators compromise your AC’s cooling performance and increase your energy costs. Addressing these issues immediately by contacting a trusted HVAC professional prevents further damage and safeguards your HVAC's efficiency.

Replacing your AC fan motor takes a professional one to four hours. The technician will start by assessing your system and safely removing the damaged motor. If a new part needs to be ordered, it might take a few days. Once the part is available, your pro will install it properly and make sure your system is running smoothly.
