"We had been having a plumbing issue in our kitchen, both the drain pipes and faucet were leaking a bit and we finally got an under the sink area filled with water the other day (we had been hoping it would wait a bit until we were ready to redo the whole kitchen).  We called a few plumbers earlier in the week and left messages on machines, with people saying to expect a callback, etc but the only person who returned our call was Chris.  He came by a few days later as scheduled and fixed both of our problems and was out in about an hour and a half.   <br /> He let my fiance go with him into the crawl space, showed him some things down there and under the sink which was great (turns out a lot of what we have is out of code and knowing that will be really helpful in how we prioritize our remodels).  It is nice to have someone come into your home to make repairs who is willing to let the homeowner 'tag along' and learn a bit along the way.  Chris also just seems like a nice guy, the visit ended with laughter and him and my fiance sharing a story or two. <br /> Thanks! <br />"

"I have to give great points to this service center. This was an autobody repair done so well that a 2008 car was repaired to 'new' condition. Damage was to our street-parked car that was backed into from a car from a neighboring driveway resulting in a 'T boned' car driver's side. The twist, of sorts, was that a young teenage boy brought the damaged car into Walks to get the repair estimate (teen was driver responsible when accident occurred). He was treated professionally. We chose to do the repairs work at Walk's since they had successfully completed in a timely, professional manner a much smaller bodywork repair to my other vehicle (basketball to engine hood of pickup. Teenagers!). My 'fair' score on the price reflects that with computerized repair estimates that multiple estimates (as we did) are virtually equal. So Fair is current compensation. <br />"

"I have been using Allied for over 7 years now. They are responsive, responsible, and professional. However, because they run a big operation and employ a large number of technicians whose expertise varies somewhat, there is also a variation in the quality of the service you may get on any individual call, depending on the caliber of the service technician assigned to you. Yet, all of them have the basic expertise and at the end of the day,the company always stands behind their service and makes sure that the repair is done properly and that you are satisfied with the outcome. <br /> <br />"

"I love their customer service, their attention to quality in the parts and their honesty.  They are always honest about what needs to be done and what doesn't need to be done.  Their price is fair and by that I mean their labor cost is very low."

"Wonderfully done work from very stand up guys. The crew is personable and works quickly. Everything that was needed was done and comes at a good cost. We are very happy with the results and would recommend anyone needing any excavation work to go with Brian. All piping looks great, and they did a lot of work in the time that they were here."

FAQs for gas piping projects in State College, PA

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
