Summary: Aqua Concepts rebuilt most of my pool (70-year-old, 20’x40’, 9’ deep maindrain, rectangular pool) from the rebar on up, replastered the pool, added new steps, pressure tested my maindrain, installed a split maindrain, and recommended a pool Startup party that I am very happy with. Time Frame: May-June 2021 (COVID time) Issues\Complaints: None My AquaConcepts contact: Chris was always available to answer my questions whether by text, phone call, or in-person visit. He did so in a timely manner. He also suggested alternate approaches and ideas that could be implemented during the rebuild. Very helpful. Background: Initially I planned only to replaster the pool. The surface looked OK except for a few “red spots” in the shallow end. Those spots turned out to be rusted rebar that had penetrated the plaster! This finding changed the entire nature of the job. AquaConcepts dug several “windows” into the plaster and it was evident that rust was widespread. To affect a reasonable rebuild price, they built a new rebar shell (say 6” above the old one), covered both rebar frames with shotcrete (at 3500 psi), bead blasted my existing tile (came out pretty good looking) and all this for half the price of a new pool (new pool of this size: 80-90k.) They also built the rebar shell for the new steps. (As I’m retired, I watched every step of the rebuild closely, asked lots of questions, and enjoyed the process)."

"They had to do a lot of things.  Most of the people I worked with were great.  It took three months to finish the work.  They were all ready to go ahead and do the work.  They were responsive and tried to figure out what to do.  It was not entirely a perfect process.  Most of the part it was not their fault.  There was some frustration at times.  The pool, however, looks great.  The person I contacted in the company was super responsive.  She was great.  They were definitely responsive.  They did what they needed to do.  When we filled the pool it did not fill up since the pool was leaking.  They had to completely redo it.  It turned out that the electrostatic value was left open.  I had to keep filling the pool until they figured out the problem and got an extra $300 water bill."

"The service was fine. I had talked to several companies we basically talked about the process. It takes some time from the city of L.A and the department of water and power. I just had the panels turned on a week and a half ago. I did not receive a bill. It was informed that it would take a while. They were fine. They were laid back and not pushy at all. It was a good price and there were a lot of moving parts. They were here when they said they would be."

"Tl;dr: Easy to work with: 5 stars, super easy to work with Customer Service: 5 stars, really great customer service Quality: 4.2 stars, there was some less-than-perfect work. Most of it addressed. We had a major remodel done with these guys, and they were super easy to work with. Great customer service and very attentive and in communication. No issues at all with how the work was coordinated, scheduled, performed,. The coordinator we worked with (Valko) was excellent. Listened to us and was accommodating when we needed him to be. There are a couple of marks taken away for some quality issues with the finishing work: some parts of the subfloor on remodeled areas (not part of the addition) were not repaired perfectly, and the floor bows slightly and creaks in a couple of spots. One door frame is not plumb. Some of the painting was done a little sloppily. The tile in the shower and bath is not 100% perfectly straight. Overall, would recommend, they do good work and are great to work with."

"The work ESI General Construction Inc. did turned out good. It seemed like, after I did it, I saw that a lot of companies have it for like a free service and I had paid for it. But it was good. The guy who came out was very knowledgeable. He helped me come up with some ideas. I really was happy with him. They may give me a proposal about some other stuff. They're very on top of things, as far as just calling. Whoever their receptionist or admin person, was really, really good at just calling and seeing if I can set the initial appointment, then following through and making sure I was going to be available for the appointment. I think the guy was going to be just a little bit l late. She called me and she let me know that he was going to be a little late. They were just really on it, in terms of communicating. I know sometimes it might get on people's nerves, because they're calling them, but I really did appreciate it. At one point, I kind of forgot, "Oh, yeah, I had that appointment." Then they called me to remind me. So I though they were really good at communicating. Afterwards, she called to follow-up and make sure that it went okay and that he gave me all the information that I needed. She checked to see if I needed anything else. So, they're people I would definitely work with, because their communication was really, really strong. I don't know if they do good construction or not, but they made it seem like they would. It made me feel comfortable, in terms of, if I did use them, I felt like they probably would be on time and they would deliver what they said they were going to deliver."

"AHS is ok. They cover repairs of most everything under the roof of your house. The companies that contract with them are not always the best. You call AHS with the issue, they send a fax to the repair company and give you the contact info. If they don't contact you within 24 hours, you call them. Sometimes they answer, sometimes they don't. When they arrive (usually three days or so later), they service the item. if it has issues within the 90 days, you call AHS again, they are sent out with no charge. If the serviceman decides the unit is unrepairable, AHS will allow you to choose a replacement from their listing (usually not as good as what you have) they will install and remove your old item, or give you wholesale amount to buy and install your own. Prices vary on what you want covered and what you want the copay to be, plus where you live. For me it is 49.99 per month with a 75.00 time of service order. You can have more than one item serviced at the same time under the same fee. If you have a SEAR product the repair guys are great. Not that wild about the other ones they send out. But it is a big savings compared to calling someone on your own. The cost of service is only the 75.00 copay."
