"We had absolutely no issues. Ramon and his wife, Maria, were great to work with, and they did an excellent job. The sidewalk turned out just the way we wanted it. The price was in the same ballpark as the rest of the estimates we received. They arrived on time, cleaned up when they finished. I would definitely hire Ramon again, without question."

"We gave Jimmy an excellent rating even though he ran into some challenges with municipal permitting, city inspectors, and a work crew that left some things undone which needed to be corrected. To Jimmy's credit, he was always reachable by phone, responsive to our inquiries, and "Johnny-On -The-Spot" for getting things corrected that needed to be corrected. His crew foreman JJ was excellent in answering our questions and making certain that the installation was everything we expected. Not every job goes smoothly, but Jimmy made sure that we ultimately got the service and product we paid for. We would hire him again and recommend him to others."

"The team texted enroute to my house, and showed up on time. I expected them to scrape the old grass and lay the new sod. Instead, Alex spent quite a bit of time analyzing the flow of groundwater across my backyard, came up with a plan to improve that flow, and stop the pooling that was degrading my lawn. He leveled everything by hand and added the topsoil needed to keep everything level while prepping the area for the sod. It's early, but the sod looked good quality. There was plenty of communication during and after installation to make sure I was satisfied and didn't have questions or things I felt were lacking. I would recommend and hire again. Thanks AA Landscaping"

"I recently had a house project completed that included fixing leaks and installing new under stairs projects. The crew was fast and friendly, ensuring a smooth and efficient process from start to finish. Linda was exceptional. She stayed on top of everything, her crews are always on time, very professional and very polite. They also keep our house very clean, they lay out protective paper and plastic and make sure to protect our other areas and furniture. Linda also frequently visiting to check on progress and making sure we were satisfied with the work. The team's speed and dedication to getting the job done were impressive. I highly recommend their services! You don't have to worry that you have to chase them after on work progress, they are super proactive. I'm super happy that they are so proactive because I am not. Thanks again Linda and your team and we will definitely use your services again!"

FAQs for gravel or loose fill paving install, spread or scrape projects in Sugar Land, TX

To calculate how much pea gravel you need for your project, multiply the length, width, and depth of the area you want to cover to find the volume in cubic feet. Then, divide that number by 27 to convert it to cubic yards to determine the amount of pea gravel you need.

A yard of pea gravel weighs about 1.3 tons or 2,600 pounds. Keep in mind that wet gravel weighs more than dry, and different types of gravel can vary in weight. For example, due to its density, river rock weighs significantly more than crushed stone and pea gravel.

The ideal depth for pea gravel depends on the type and size of your project. You'll need at least two to three inches for walkways and patios and a minimum of six inches for driveways to support heavy vehicles and prevent shifting over time. Aim for a depth of three to four inches in decorative garden beds or drainage areas.

Pea gravel is attractive, versatile, and low-maintenance. It provides excellent drainage, making it ideal for pathways, driveways, and garden beds. On the downside, its sharp texture isn't ideal for bare feet, and it can be challenging to weed or remove once installed. It can also shift underfoot without proper edging, creating an uneven surface.

Alternative landscaping materials you can use instead of pea gravel include wood chips, decomposed granite, crushed stone, pebbles, quartz, mulch, sand, and river rock. These materials offer different aesthetics, performance, and costs, so it’s important to do your research to determine which one best fits your landscape design and budget.

Many homeowners choose pea gravel because it requires minimal upkeep compared to other landscaping materials. You'll need to rake it occasionally to redistribute the stones and maintain an even surface. Pros also recommend installing weed barrier fabric beneath the gravel to prevent unwanted growth, although some weeds may still appear over time.
