"At first, the old garage door opener failed and the garage door could not open or close automatically (only manually). I called Richard, he showed up on time on a short notice. He gave us some options and explained the cost and the time needed to do the work. He then came another day (I think it must have within 1-2 days after he came for the damage inspection) and installed the new garage door opener along with an assistant. There were no issues with the installation. He also got rid of the old, electrical wiring that was hanging all over the garage and installed new wiring that was nicely installed so that it is not visible to the eye. The new opener (belt)  is definitely much less noisy than the previous (chain) and was worth the extra cost. <br /> A few days after the installation, one of the springs broke and I asked him to come back to see if this is related to his work. He explained that he had not touched the springs when he installed the new garage opener and this was a completely different issue, which made sense to me. He installed new springs the next day at the cost of the parts only. He also installed new insulating material around the door for better weather protection for free (he did not want to charge for that). Again he showed up on time and delivered the work on schedule. <br /> Overall an excellent experience.  <br />"

The service was delivered within the time frame given. All of my questions were answered via phone or email and the paperwork was seamless and the price was very reasonable."

"It went great, Gabe and his team were affordable and willing to work with us on cost. They arrived promptly when they said they would and were very responsive to us. Gabe constantly checked in with us to make sure we were happy with the service. "Dan stands above other handyman I’ve hired. A pocket door to a bathroom was erratic, it would jam or drop to the floor and neither open or close. After rehanging the door, it would slide for a day or two before again jamming. A carpenter tried and failed to solve the problem. I feared that the entire door and its frame needed to be removed and replaced. I contacted Handy for Hire, they responded, we agreed on a time for Dan and he arrived as planed. He spent some time analyzing the door and the mechanism on which it hangs. He identified the problem. The thread on one of the door’s adjustment screws was wearing - it would support the door for a short while before it again slipped from the screw. Dan’s next contribution was to take the mechanism home, weld a more sturdy screw onto the mechanism, return and install it on the door. Problem solved. I was impressed by Dan’s analysis of the problem and the ingenuity of the fix. A super handyman!"

"Overall it was a fair experience. Things to note: 1. Their phone number directs you to a calling service who then passes your information on and they return your call. There is no way to get in touch with them directly unless they wanted to call you. 2. Technicians arrived on time and were professional and courteous. 3. They wanted to charge an arm and a leg for air filters that needed to be replaced. The person was upfront to say it is for their labor to run out and get filters. I would have thought that they would want to stock air filters in the van as it is one of the most common things to replace. Instead of having them do it, since we live so close to Home Depot, I was able to get it myself at a fraction of cost while they did other work. Not a clever sales strategy on their part. 4. Even though we told them of the issue, they did not fix it correct the first time. They had to come back. They did not charge for diagnosis for the second visit, but still we paid more for the same issue. I wonder if what we paid for the first time when they supposedly fixed the issue was something that was required?"

"I called the day that I needed the AC installed. Marc was very responsive over the phone and texted before his arrival. He installed the AC into very old widows, and made sure it was secure and as insulated at possible. Overall, he was prompt, friendly, and professional."
