The technician said he would not charge me for the repair on my dampener but I got a $40 charge anyways after refusing to pay for the safety valve, which I said I would buy myself. When I had spoken with Casteel on the phone the night before, they said the $40 charge would be for a second HVAC unit, which ultimately did not get serviced. I never received a detailed explanation of these charges and instead said this was a “miscellaneous fee” for repairs. They got the job done but I do not think I would hire again solely because I felt like I was being taken advantage of for most of the visit. I could not get the $40 charge removed after calling Casteel and explaining the situation. So it was a $129 service call with no parts replaced more expensive than other providers."
