"I contacted Bluestar Air Mechanical for a second opinion after an appointment with Air One. I have a Carrier HVAC system, and the Air One technician recommended a complete system replacement, claiming the blower was bad, the furnace control board needed replacing, and that there were other issues. Since replacing the HVAC is a big investment, I wanted to get a second opinion. It was only after comparing the service from Bluestar that I realized Air One may have been pushing for a new system sale or lacked the expertise to properly diagnose and repair the actual problems. Isaac, the technician from Bluestar, spent about an hour thoroughly diagnosing and fixing the issues. He found burnt wiring in the furnace and discovered that the wrong capacitor had been incorrectly installed in the AC. Isaac replaced the burnt wiring in the furnace and the capacitor in the AC. After these repairs, my Carrier system was back up and running—without the need for a costly replacement. Bluestar, and Isaac in particular, demonstrated professionalism, expertise, and honesty. They focused on resolving the actual issues instead of pushing for an unnecessary system replacement. "It was a superb experience. From the visit by Bruce the sales representative to the installation day to the follow-up from Petro, every single person we interacted with was helpful and professional. When Bruce arrived to do the assessment, we spent time going over the heating needs in the house. After a thorough inspection and measurement of the house, we sat down. He showed me a few options, all of which were going to provide good service. I ordered a unit at the end of that meeting. The installation day was just terrific- the entire work crew that showed up were everything I would hope to find: Upbeat, informative, hard-working, focused. The job was finished before end of day as promised. The heater room is now immaculate, with new piping and a new heater. It was like watching a pit crew at a NASCAR race. Everyone had their tasks, they moved carefully but quickly. The materials were all laid out in order, etc. Just a totally professional approach to their work. The crew boss answered any questions I had. The follow-up for a normal inspection of the furnace chimney was scheduled the day after the installation. "I have been a customer for a very long time and this scheduled maintenance and dryer vent cleaning was done by Cesar. I have to say he is one very thorough technician and I was very pleased with his inspection and vent cleaning. His service was so different than some of the ones I've had before. I even had one inspector tell me he didn't need to check in my attic which houses one of our two units. Let me tell you about Cesar, he even cleaned up behind my dryer for me. This is something that is rare in customer service. I have my HVAC seasonally maintenanced and never had a inspector be as thorough as him. The pictures he took and explained to me and the one problem he found that no other inspector had found in all this time. I tried to spare him from the attic heat for the repair and have him return on another day in the morning but he didn't mind going back in there to fix the problem for us although it was in the dead heat of the day. I just hope the company sees this review and knows what a good technician they have in Cesar."

"Our 2.5 ton upstairs A/C was leaking coolant, so we opted to replace it. Since downstairs unit is a Carrier, we picked Pope's to bid for the job, as they were listed by Carrier, had good marks on Angie's list, and were locally owned. Pope's Air responded the same day we called, and Tim Stewart came in the afternoon, and spent over an hour describing our options and costs. We received a competitive bid, and selected Pope's Air for the work. Our previous supplier had replaced our downstairs unit a couple of years back, and had put in a unit which stressed our ductwork, causing a whistle when loaded. Pope's Air volunteered to have a look at that problem, too, included at no charge. Pope's Air scheduled and came on time the following week. It took a day to do the work, and the installers were clean and professional. They came up with an inexpensive fix in the cold air return ducting, and implemented it. No more whistle. In the upstairs unit, they discovered some crushed ductwork which our previous supplier had ignored and replaced about 20' of ducts, all for a very reasonable upcharge. The A/C works fine, w/ a better airflow, and they will return for an inspection once the weather warms enough to exercise the unit. We plan to use Pope's Air for all of our Heating and A/C needs in the future. Highly recommended."

"Contacted Total Comfort as soon as we realized our unit had stopped blowing cold. Unfortunately it was in the evening and after hours (isn't that always the way). Received a call back from an on-call technician within just a few minutes. I explained what was going on and he was more than willing to jump in is truck and head over but was very straight forward and explained that he could diagnose but there was always a possibility he may not have the parts needed that night. I hadn't considered that and was appreciative of his candor. Thunder storm rolling (thankfully) so I knew the temps were going to drop for the evening and told the tech I'd push the service call until the next day. He asked that I contact the office first thing to get on the schedule. Next morning I received a call from Total Comfort before I could call them and they scheduled a tech to come out between 1pm and 4pm that afternoon. A little before 1pm, the tech "Alex R" called to let us know he was on his way. Yes, that's correct. They set a service window between 1pm and 4pm and they actually showed up at the beginning of the quoted service window not and hour or two after it (which seems more the norm for service contractors). Skipping ahead to the most important part... Alex was awesome. Not just punctual but extremely polite, knowledgeable and efficient. He diagnosed the problem, offered the solution, answered our questions, asked for authorization before proceeding and didn't try to up-sell. That's the support a homeowner expects. "Let's start out by asking: Would I recommend Ouellette or use them again, ABSOLUTELY!!
(Our upstairs A/C unit stopped working and from a previous HVAC company we received an extremely high quote. We knew we were on borrowed time for our downstairs unit too).
We were give the name and number to Ouellette HVAC by good friends of ours. I was unsure if they would come two counties up to where we live, but they were able to fit us in. Which worked out to be a bonus for us. :) The receptionist who answered the phone was polite and when she said she would return our call...she actually did !! No tracking anyone down, or waiting for them to call back.
Devon came out to inspect our A/C unit which was not working. He was on time, very polite and extremely thorough. He worked up the numbers and explained in detail what needed to be done with the upstairs unit and why were were having airflow issues upstairs. (I don't think we've ever felt the air in the master bedroom since we bought the house 4 years ago). Anyway, the upstairs furnace had to be turned so the new coil (A/C) unit would properly fit.
Since we knew we were on borrowed time with the downstairs unit we opted to get a quote for both. After looking at the the unit, we knew found out we needed new furnace too. In any event, the price, for all three things came in just over what the previously company gave us for one A/C unit upstairs! And that would not have included fixing/adjusting the venting issues for the lack of airflow.
One of the things I particularly liked was that I did not feel like I was being talked down to because I was a woman. I felt that I was spoken to as anyone homeowner should be spoken to, male or female.
Devon came out for the installation with two others and within two days everything was up and running. I can honestly say we can actually feel the airflow in the master bedroom (we thought we could not because the room was over the garage...come to find out it was just airflow issues!!)
Would I recommend Ouellette or use them again, in a heartbeat and without any hesitation!
