"Josh and Brandon came in to find a possible leak. They were very thorough; but, didn't find a leak. They had to move several items around in a closet and in a hallway. Afterwards, they put everything back as it was before they moved it. They explained what they thought could be the issue; but, they didn't push me to do any work. They were friendly and I felt like I could trust them. If I have plumbing issues in the future, I will call C. Woods and ask for Josh and Brandon."

"I talked to Steve up at Flow Rite about water leaking from under my slab. After he came out and discovered it was a slab leak he had it fixed within 48 hours. This involved digging 12 foot under the slab of the house, welding in a new pipe, and putting all the dirt back. They were very professional and it all looked very good after they were done. I would recommend them to anyone who needs plumbing services."

"Snaked the line, really expensive. This company is the most expensive in the area. They didn't have change and they wanted to keep $5 so I paid with CC and they got upset. I normally tip but whit these prices I wouldn't Also, the "free service call" coupon is a scam. they just don't honor it, they still charge you at least $75 and they call it materials when they don't actually use any material."

FAQs for gas piping projects in Van, TX

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
