"Leon was wonderful! So professional, listened to what I had been told years ago about my fireplace (that it had multiple cracks and needed to be replaced). He inspected it thoroughly and showed me pictures of what he found: No cracks, just normal wear and tear. The other company wanted me to pay $3000 for a new liner, so we just never did it and therefore believed we could not use our fireplace since then. Leon certified that it met the standards necessary to be used, replaced my 25+ year old cap and swept the chimney. I'm thrilled to be able to use it again and am so thankful for his expertise and personal and professional honesty in telling me I did not need those expensive repairs. "Called and made appointment for exterior chimney inspection for $100. They showed up exactly in the time window; inspected the chimneys; wrote up a proposal to replace crowns, fix broken flue tile, re-seal flashing for $650 per chimney for total of $1300. Because I accepted the proposal they waived the $100 inspection charge. I paid 20% down and the remainder a week later when they came to do the work. All work was done from outside house with only access to water and power required. No issues. I'd use them again."

"I had a great experience with Capitol Chimney. I called them for a chimney inspection because I had the plumbing company come out and check the boiler and other than needing a new damper motor (which they replaced), they said the boiler was fine. So after about a week, my boiler was still blowing hot air into the laundry room through the spill switch vent due to the backdraft from the chimney. This was the beginning of January and we were going to have a week of freezing temperatures and everyone was super busy. I called Capitol Chimney and they were nice enough to fit me in for a chimney inspection. Abraham and Carlos came out and were very friendly and explained everything about the chimney showing me the pictures of inside the chimney also explaing that I needed a chimney liner to fix the problem. They were very professional and made me feel like it was one of my friends talking to me. I appreciate good customer service as that is just as important as the quality of the work if not more so. I set up an appointment with Diana. She is fantastic! She knows a lot about chimneys, just as much as one of the techss! She was really great on the phone and I felt at ease with her and she kept me updated on where the truck was as well as all the email paperwork sent back and forth. Great customer service from her as well! Very important. So my appointment day to replace the chimney liner came and they were able to show up very early! Joaquin and Augustino were very nice and professional and such hard workers! I was curious how a chimney liner was installed and watched them do some of the work. It is very time consuming and hard work as there is a lot of cutting involved and work on the outside as well as the inside and the chimney cap looks so good that my neighbor said it is the nicest one on the block. HAHA! They really took the time to put the tarp down in the laundry room and were vacuuming the whole time they were working. In fact, the laundry room was cleaner after they left! Joaquin explained how the 'T' worked in the pipes and we tested the boiler and hot water heater and everything worked great. I am really happy with their work. In fact, I am happy with the whole process from beginning to end. It has been over a month now and the boiler is actually working better than it did before. "From first contact, Michael D. was very helpful, knowledgeable, and able to answer all of my technical and project management questions. His material examples and pricing was in-line with other estimates we received for the same work. Day before the project, materials arrived at our home. The roof crew showed up on time and spent all day doing the work, cleaning up as evening approached. Two days later the gutter install team arrived and finished their project within hours. Both teams did exceptional on the quality and detail work, cleanup looked as if no work had been done - very thorough."

"Glenn and Bryan did the impossible. Magic Broom is indeed pricey but they have the expertise, skill, and workmanship none of the companies with more ratings have on Angi. He installed a chimney liner for our 1980s Squire wood stove insert. Other chimney companies said they would have to knock out and replace bricks (which would have been impossible to match) on our interior wall to install it because there wasn't enough clearance to reach their hands in above the stove insert to attach the liner. However, Magic Broom instead knew of a boot adapter that attaches by reaching through the inside of the stove insert instead. They got it done smoothly. Other top rated Angi chimney companies were also telling us that the only other alternative was to buy a new insert which would be smaller to give them space for the clearance above the insert. New stoves hold maybe one log at a time...we did not want to give up our spacious insert which we have built roaring fires! Magic Broom saved us!!!!! As I stated in an earlier review from their initial visit: Better than four other A rated Angie's List companies. I called three other chimney companies to help solve a problem. We have a 46 year old wood stove insert and safety code now requires a chimney liner. Three other companies who are the top rated and most reviews on Angie's List came out and I they could not find a solution on how to attach the liner to the wood stove because their is no clearance above the unit to attach. I was terribly disappointed and stuck with the other companies. One day I stopped in the Magic Broom office and Glenn was a fireplace encyclopedia. He immediately knew my fireplace, unit and solution to provided a solution attach from the inside. This job is more expensive than the other companies but they are more knowledgeable. They started the job today by doing the chimney clean and they treated my unit so delicately and paid attention to details. They had an impressive camera system for their inspection (the other companies showed up with NO cameras for their estimates although it was promised) and I was blown away by the technology and detail with their inspection report. Bryan and Michael were absolutely the best and they will return to do the liner install. Magic Broom should be listed at the top of Angie's List."

"Tom replaced an old metal roof with a standing seam copper roof on our home addition. We really enjoyed working with him and Lyon's. They do absolutely beautiful work (I will try to add a photo this week). More generally, Tom is patient and happy to answer client questions and I had a lot of questions. He also is incredibly prompt in responding to his clients (including late in the afternoon and on weekends). We plan to work with him on smaller projects in the future."

"After my spring tune-up, NICE has been working to see whether they could make changes in my system to reduce humidity. The owner, Craig, and the service manager, Mike, came out and did a full evaluation and made some changes in my system and how we use it. They gave me a lot of time and attention, and made useful recommendations. Also, there was follow up by one their technicians, Freddy, who has been at my house other times and who is excellent."
