"Hal's work is top-notch but I grew increasingly frustrated with the timing and inconsistency of his work habits. His was one of several estimates I received and basically he said he would beat any estimate I received. The difference is that everyone else was going to use cedar and he only works with pressure-treated Southern yellow pine, which is less than half the cost of cedar. I was unsure of the durability and longevity of that product so I did extensive research online. Still unsure, I drive around the Twin Cities to see other jobs Hal did that gave stood the test of time and I decided to move forward. Clearly, the way he builds his fences require considerably more manual labor than those built with cedar posts and pickets so essentially instead of paying for the higher cost of cedar, you pay for increased labor costs. Unfortunately, Hal isn't as going as predicting when he will get jobs complete as he is completing them well. He was over a month late in getting started and I repeatedly had to call him to inquire about the delay. It was quite frustrating but since I didn't absolutely need the fence done by a certain date, I decided to practice patience. Once he finally started, most days he and his helper only worked 4 hours so the project dragged on far longer than I thought it would. Admittedly, there were a couple of weather-related days but other times when it was a perfect day, they wouldn't show up and I would give no idea when they were coming again. After I told him I really needed to have him be more communicative, he was and within a short time after that conversation, he completed the fence. The fence is beautiful and appears very sturdy. We'll see how it withstands time and weather but for now I am very happy with it. Hal does beautiful work but if you are on a strict timeline I would not recommend working with him. If you are flexible and don't mind putting more effort into communication, he is a great person to work with.

"Everything went great! They were able to come out and do an estimate within a week or so. The work was scheduled out a few weeks after that and everything looks great. The workers were courteous and considerate of my property; they walked me thru the process as they were doing it and had me inspect the work before they left."

"I was very impressed with this company. The professionals who worked on it were wonderful. They were on time, they were clean and they  were personalble. The quality of the porch is also excellant and is all they told me it would be.
 I would encourage Clint to do a better job of communicating with customers once the job gets going but everytime I did talk to him , he was helpful and followed thru with what I needed.
  I particularly liked Scott  and Chris who both made sure all my needs were taken care of and everything was done well and completely.  All the guys who worked at my house were a pleasure to have around.
  I encourage anyone to use this company.

"Mr. Samuel Sharpe showed up on time and performed all the tasks that I asked him to do. I contacted about 6 or 7 Contractors for this project. Only three showed up to give me a estimate,the other 4 never called me back. In this age of instant communication, I feel that sometimes customer service is a thing of the past.Of course, I remember going to the gas station and a attendant would fill your gas tank,check your oil and wash your windows.Ah,the good old days! Samuel Sharpe reminds me of those days gone by. He will go out of his way to accommodate you. I added on about 5 extra things on my original bid and he performed these tasks flawlessly.Samuel is a easy going person who keeps you informed how each and every project is going .I feel that his workmanship,professionalism,and attention to detail is superb.I feel that for everything that Sam did and the total cost that I was charged,it was a very good investment for my house. "The project was great from start to finish. Like I said, he worked closely with me on the designs of my deck, as I had a lot of ideas. He came back to me with his plans and went beyond my expectations with the execution of the finished project. John is willing to work with you on budgets, designs and is also, just an all around good guy to have work on your house. I would recommend his services no matter what the project might be."

"From day 1 it was a night and day experience. They actually showed up, so they were already off to a better start. Worked with the city and structural engineer to ensure safe completion of structural work, worked with me on layout and design. Work area was always tarped off to avoid dirtying up the rest of the house, and the worksite was so clean I wanted to hire them as housecleaners afterwards. Very respectful of our property and time, and our money. There were a couple change orders, and I was on the front of them every time- I knew what was going on, I was able to make decisions on which way I wanted to go with things. There was constant updates and communication, they were always willing to meet me onsite to discuss progress. Their subs were great as well. I had a lot of changes and additions I made during the project and they were happy to accommodate. I was never in the dark on anything- always knew where my money was, if there were delays, if we needed to change or update something. We've already engaged them on another project. I absolutely love these guys and would recommend them to anyone. They saved my house. I was ready to walk away from the stupid thing and now it's coming together as the dream house I hoped it would be.
