"The team showed up on time and were very professional. Our patio, driveway, walkways and deck look brand new. They also pressure washed the whole house and our brick looks gorgeous. Because of the great job they did, we saw a couple spots that needed pressure washed a little more to match the spotless rest of the house and they responded quickly and came back to address those small spots. "We hired MW to turn our unfinished attic into living space for our growing family. We had never taken on such a big home improvement project, and MW exceeded expectations in every way. We selected MW after interviewing Greg Marks (one of the owners) and receiving quotes from several other contractors. We chose MW based on the competitiveness of their price, their experience and expertise which came across in our initial conversations with Greg, and the fact that they are a family-owned business. Our house is a 1950's rambler in Arlington. Prior to the project we had all living space on the main level, as well as a finished basement. MW opened up our first floor living space, added a staircase to access the new second floor, and finished the attic by adding a shed dormer on the front of our house. The new second level has two bedrooms, a bathroom, and a playroom for our children. From the initial design to the execution of the project everything was first class. In the process, MW completed loads of other upgrades including adding a portico to the front of our home, re-siding the house with beautiful Hardie plank, replacing most of our old windows, replacing the roof, and adding all new interior doors. All of the finishes -- from the hardwoods that they installed, to the wallpaper on accent walls, to the paint, to beautiful staircase, etc. -- were well done. The only delay in the project was waiting on Arlington County to issue the permits. But MW began work immediately after the permits came through and they worked diligently to complete the project. Their crew was at the house promptly each day and worked long hours to get things done. Because of their hard work and dedication, the project was completed in approximately 3 months. Friends and family were impressed with how quickly things were finished. Drew Marks kept us well-informed throughout the project, holding regular meetings and walkthroughs to discuss details and make decisions. He was also responsive to our calls and emails. Overall, we felt like we were in good hands with a company that really cared about creating a beautiful and functional living space for our family. We could not be happier with the end result. Everyone that sees it cannot believe how great it turned out. It transformed our house into a forever home for our family of four. A couple of final thoughts. One of the things that we really appreciated was that MW does not spring your for hidden costs or up-charges. I was worried about that based on stories I've heard from other friends and what is regularly presented on home improvement programs on TV. But I felt like MW addressed any unexpected items that they encountered in our older home without increasing the agreed upon price. I also feel like they did certain things that other contractors would charge extra for without increasing cost. Since the project was finished in September we have contacted MW to come and address some minor issues (e.g., door adjustments as the house settles, minor electrical fixes). They have have continued to be responsive and professional for these minor items even though our project is effectively completed. In other words, they have continued to show the same level of responsiveness that we experienced throughout the project."

"Rene responded to my request for and estimate with a prompt visit, and subsequent reasonable cost estimate.  Rene  listened and provided useful advice to help me make decisions.  Although the estimate and contract was signed in March, we agreed that the work would not begin until June.   Rene was ready on the agreed upon date
Painting: Rene's team arrived on time and ready to work.  Rooms were well prepared and the paint job and moulding installation was top notch.  Rene is a perfectionist and asked his workers to redo a section that to my untrained eye looked fine. They completed the work within the agreed upon time frame. Rene and his team (Jacob & ?) were professional, cordial, and helpful in decision making.
Handyman: Rene and Jacob replaced two closet doors, one of which was not an easy fix.
Julio is an excellent handyman who clearly takes pride in his work.  He did not waste time, and was able to complete the major items on my  "to do"  list in one day.
All in all working with Rene and Renaissace Restoration was the most pleasant experience I have had with a contractor.

"I cannot say enough about how happy we are with the service and quality that George's Painting provided.  We threw them a couple of curve-balls (unintentionally), which they handled very nicely and with great professionalism.  We purchased composite mouldings, which they had not worked with before and were not comfortable with.  George, Jr. did some quick research and got the information that he needed to be able to install our mouldings.  Their carpenter is very good and the "wood"work looks beautiful. 
The second curve-ball was that we hated the paint color that we'd picked out for the main floor, once we saw it up on the walls.  GP worked with us and fit in additional workers for the second day of painting to repaint what had been painted the prior day, for a very reasonable additional charge.
The work that was done is just immaculate and they were very diligent cleaning up each day.  Both George, Sr. and George, Jr. did a thorough job of assessing the environment and challenges and resolving issues so that the workforce was properly directed, before they left the site.  They were also very accessible during the course of the project and checked in afterward to ensure that there wasn't any touch-up that needed to be done.
All in all, the entire team is friendly, professional, and very talented at what they do.  We have additional painting to be done and we wouldn't even consider using anyone but George's Painting!

The tile work throughout the condo is flawless and by far our favorite.
