"I needed three dead dogwood trees cut down and removed. They were very prompt in reaching out to me and discussing what my needs for tree removal were. Dylan came out and looked at the trees later that week and was back the next to complete the job. He did a fantastic job and exceeded my expectations! I would definitely recommend them for any tree removal or landscaping needs! I'm going to have him come back out next spring to trim my azaleas! Thanks so much for your help and great service!!! "

"We ended up interviewing 8 siding companies and narrowed our choices to DH Construction and another company. Since my husband and I had differing opinions on who we needed to hire we invited the final two back out for a final discussion. After hearing the two proposals again, my husband and I felt like DH Construction was not going to rush through, would remove all the wood rot (others wanted to cover-up the rot on the fascia boards), and give us the quality workmanship that we both wanted. We felt like Brian was a very honest person and wanted to give us the best product possible.  <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> As the job started my husband and I were very nervous with the amount of money the project would cost and we knew that there was a high probability of damage that we couldn't see. However, our nerves began to subside and we began to see that Brian and his team were dedicated to doing a quality job while providing the most information to us as possible. They uncovered termite damage at the garage, rot on a sil joist, and rot around our window, however, they always took the time to explain the problem, possible solutions and discussed the costs of replacing with us prior to proceeding. His team was very quick to respond to any concerns that we had and when we asked Brian to come out and discuss one of the repairs he was at our house at 7 am the next day so we could discuss it. He was quick to return any phone calls and always wanted to make sure as a customer we were satisfied with the outcome. His team was very flexible and completed additional work that we added on to the original quote such as replacing our soffits, covering our vented gables (due to a new vented roof), and painting our shed. All which he quickly agreed to complete without any hesitation. All of his crews that came to the house to work were fantastic, they are experts at their job and worked hard the whole time they were here.  <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> We have had several complements on the house since it was complete and my husband keeps stating that house is more structurally sound today than it was 17 years ago when he bought it.  <br /> <br /> We are more than happy with the quality and service that DH Construction provided. Brian constantly stated throughout the process that he wanted us to be completely satisfied with the final product and we couldn't be more happy. Brian's commitment to quality and reassuring words made us feel like our satisfaction was the highest priority throughout the entire process.  <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> The absolute best thing about this entire process was the way Brian treated us throughout the job. We started out looking for a contractor but truly believe that we have found a friend.     <br />"

"I was very pleased with my experience with Carolina Home Exteriors. Our job was difficult as we were replacing old windows on the 2nd floor and the home exterior is asbestos siding. Brian and Danny were wonderful. The job took longer than anticipated but that is because they had to be very careful working around the asbestos siding. Their work was top notch, excellent quality. They cleaned up beautifully every day, vacuuming debris and cleaning the new windows. They were very professional in their interactions with me throughout the week. In fact, I was so happy with the quality of the framing they were doing around the window exteriors, I asked them to do an additional job to frame the inside of a window in our bathroom that is going to be tiled soon. I would definitely recommend them and use them again."

"We looked at a few companies for roofing and they all came in high. Overall fantastic, just came in a bit high price-wise. <br /> <br /> He did such a good job trying to contact me, I would potentially use him again. I was able to find someone who did it for really cheap. But I was about to pull the trigger on Grace, he was fantastic."

FAQs for door or window screens install or repair projects in Washington, NC

Most off-the-shelf screens come in fixed sizes, ranging from 18 inches by 20 inches to 36 inches by 74 inches, which fit the vast majority of residential windows. If your opening falls outside that range or has a unique shape, you’ll need a custom screen built to the exact measurements. Going custom ensures a secure fit, a solid barrier against bugs, and a clean, finished look.

The decision to repair or replace your screen depends on the extent of the damage. Small holes or tears in otherwise solid mesh can be patched, and a sturdy frame usually doesn’t need to go anywhere. However, once the frame is bent or the mesh is brittle and fraying in several spots, replacement becomes a more sensible option—and often proves to be less costly in the long run. Take a close look at both parts before making a decision.

To rescreen a window, start by prying out the old spline, then lift the torn mesh from the frame. Lay the new screen over the frame, allowing about an inch of excess on all sides, and hold it in place while pressing fresh spline into the groove with a roller. Check that the mesh is taut—many pros rest a small brick on it while they work—then trim the overhang with a utility knife.

Most window screens last for 10 to 12 years. Time, sun, and weather gradually make the mesh brittle, so you’ll start to see sagging, rips, or thinning spots that let bugs get through. Check the screens each season; if the mesh crumbles or the frame warps, it’s time to replace them to keep air flowing and pests outside.

Most pros can swap out a screen in 10 minutes to an hour. A quick pop‑in replacement goes fastest, while fitting new mesh into an existing frame or working on a hard‑to‑reach upper window adds time. Either way, plan for at least a few extra minutes per screen so the installer can verify the fit and ensure the spline is seated correctly.
