"The initial company that I called gave me a quote of $22,000 to replace cast iron piping under my home and in my front yard. My son was familiar with the work of another company, All Things Sewer and Drain, gave them a call and sent them the video taken of the underground piping. All Things, Sewer and Drain came out in the early evening to help me find a solution to this problem They worked until 1:30 AM scaling the interior of the cast-iron pipe and flushing out debris. "I talked with several contractors regarding a flooding basement problem, and received a wide range of contradicting proposals from sump pumps to new interior footer drains to various exterior solutions.  I chose M&M because their proposal was straightforward, along the lines of what made the most sense to me.  M&M's price was comparable to some other drainage and landscape companies, and significantly lower than one of the older companies.  Anthony from M&M answered my questions directly, and included additional work such as grading of the property in the quoted price as well as things I'd forgotten to mention, "sure, no problem."  He guaranteed the workmanship and offered sound advice, i.e., not to include a sump pump at this point since the outside work would likely solve the problem.
While $4000 might seem high for  2 days work, the operation was substantial and impressive, as were the skills of the crew.  They worked hard and efficiently - excellent work ethic.  They did everything as promised, plus took out an old shrub (with permission) in order to create a better drain route, and leveled an odd hump in the yard that indirectly effected drainage. Everything was cleaned up and finished with topsoil and grass seed.  They returned on a later date to address an issue with a walkway slab, no problem.  We are happy with the results.  For the first time since living here, the basement hasn't flooded during heavy rains.  Our drainage issues seem to be solved - money well spent.

"We priced out dumpsters and initially, the dumpsters looked like the way to go but upon reading the fine print, we realized they would have cost more than a bullbag. Each dumpster was about $150-$200 BUT each ONLY included up to 1 ton of material, and the companies would charge me an additional $85/ton over it. The bullbag price was NOT based on weight but rather just filling the bag to the top of the bag. The bullbag not only saved me money, but the people were nice to deal with, but everything they said, they actually did. We have a house on the Cape and we will use them there too in March. We were told up front that there would be an additional $75 fee because of the location, but it is STILL cheaper and easier than a metal dumpster."
