"Our garbage disposal was leaking. At first inspection Jeff determined that the bottom portion of the garbage disposal needed to be replaced, and said he would do it for $125 including parts and labor. He was our second opinion and he sad the same thing the first plumber said, but the first plumber was going to charge us a ridiculous amount of money. He went out to get the part, came back in a timely manner, replaced it, and discovered that the top portion of the garbage disposal was also leaking. He then asked for another $150 for the other part, and gas $. Considering the first plumber was going to charge us way more than $275 to replace just the bottom part of the garbage disposal we agreed that was a fair price. He went out to get the other part, came back in a timely manner, replaced the entire garbage disposal, and it's been working like a dream ever since. Jeff was very professional and we'll definitely call him again if we need to."

"Extremely well. The Technician diagnosed the problem quickly. Dismantled the gas backup heat burner, completely. Totally cleaned the unit, before returning the unit to service. Technician determined that gas burner had an incorrect fuel orifice for the propane gas being used. Fuel orifice was replaced with the correct orifice for LP gas, and unit returned to service at no charge to me. They had mistakenly installed the incorrect orifice at the time of the initial burner installation in February of 2013. <br />"

"Williamburg Heating and AC arrived at 8:30 am on the scheduled date of the work. They had four technicians to perform the required work. Two worked outside on the heat pump and condenser and the other two on the inside air handler. The new system was completely installed and working at approximately 5:30 pm. All of the repair technicians were friendly and professional and removed the old heat pump system and all trash prior to competing the job. Did have an issue when we first attempted to turn on the heat approximately 2 months after the work was done. Heat would not come on. A call to Williamsburg Heating and AC at approximately 6:00 pm on a Friday evening was answered by an answering service and a return call to me from a technician was received within 2 minutes. Technician arrived, as agreed, the following morning and found that the thermostat was setup to work with gas heat not electric as we had. Problem was corrected immediately and all systems are working fine."

"Glover provided us a quote within the week of initial contact and coached us to a new fireplace that we enjoy.  Within the next 1.5 months, they installed a new gas fireplace and replaced the outdated venting.  Installers were on-time, professional, and immaculately clean before departure.  We would hire Glover again. <br />"

FAQs for gas piping projects in West Point, VA

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
