"The job was started on time and took a few days. It was completed as promised and the work was done right! When having this type of work done in the home you live in you always worry about the mess. Josh and his crew kept everything neat and clean at the end of each day. Very professional."

"Todd (Renovation Works) and his team did it again. They delivered a quality innovative remodel to my dated kitchen. New cabinets were installed, hardwood flooring extended into the kitchen seamlessly, and ceramic tile backsplash was added, all of this bringing my dysfunctional kitchen into the modern era. Todd's dedication to customer satisfaction is always over the top. No issue, no matter how trivial, is left undone. I would highly recommend Renovation Works professional expertise to those looking for a remodel regardless of the magnitude of the project."

"went perfect - came day after I called and refused to bill me.  We have used them for many projects over the years from plumbing work, electrical, painting, installing hardwood floors, remodeling bathrooms, tiling - no job too big or too small - have probably spent over $ 20,000 with them as we bought an older home to fix up and they did most all the work.  Several things we really like re that when they finish for the day, they really clean up even if they are continuing the same work the next day.  Also, if they don't have the skill set or equipment for a job, they don't try to fake I but will give you several good references to choose from. <br />"

"Very pleased with the work. Sherrill, Ian, Chris and others performed. When I needed to contact Sherrill via email or text responded within 5-10 minutes far majority of time, very impressed. They coordinated very well with the hardware floor contractor. I received five estimates and felt most comfortable based upon references and discussions with Sherrill. His estimate was right on the money. In addition after final payment we discovered a size problem with one of the cabinets and Sherrill agreed to correct with no questions asked. I highly recommend Sherrill Construction and will be happy to be a reference. My neighbor observed our project and contracted with Sherrill for their kitchen remodel."

"After much research and thought on our part, we hired Brian Beane with Bella Lan Renovations to remodel our master bath. We knew we wanted to also do the other 2 baths and the kitchen. We were very cautious and decided to start with the master bath with the “see how this goes attitude”. It’s hard to find the words to describe the craftsmanship, professionalism, expertise, integrity and competitive pricing of this contractor. We are extremely pleased beyond our expectations, and we had very high expectations going in! We therefore ended up having Brian do a whole house remodel. Brian was most helpful with ideas to improve the house. He designed a complete rearrangement of the master bath which now seems larger and is completely handicap-accessible. While we don’t need that now, and hopefully never will, it is something that would allow us to stay in our home as we age. The quality of his work is excellent, but to my astonishment this contractor had pretty darn good design skills and a knowledge of the current trends in kitchens and baths. I was impressed as I had been looking at these trends for months and have 14 magazine subscriptions to prove it! In addition, Brian tackled numerous projects around the house and did so with the same high standard he holds for all of his workers. My husband and I gave Bella Lan Renovations the highest recommendation we could. Hiring Bella Lan will be the best remodel decision you could make. It was for us! I’ll include a few pictures so you can see for yourself."

"I can't say enough good things about this contractor. This business is top-notch. He is dependable, responsive, neat and professional. I recommend him highly. He came very soon after we called, and I know he was very busy with other things. This meant a lot to me."

"We and everyone in our neighborhood were impressed with the speed and efficiency at which they worked: the entire building process took about two-and-a-half months from beginning to end. When horrible weather canceled some of the workdays, they came around on weekends or holidays to make up for lost time: their idea, not ours. My mom moved into the suite a little over five months ago; she's been happy there, and there's been no issues with any of the work done. <br /> I should briefly note that Brickwood Builders had previously done bathroom remodeling in our prior house, in order to prepare it for sale; in two weeks they did about $3500 worth of work that enabled us to raise our asking price at least $5000. And they've been responsive, when schedule permits, for small jobs. This is why we trusted them to organize something so large. We're glad we did. <br />"

FAQs for basement remodeling projects in Westfield, NC

Finishing a basement turns unused square footage into livable space and returns up to 70% of what you spend when you sell your home. Beyond that resale boost, you gain a playroom, home office, or guest suite you can start enjoying right away. That mix of daily comfort and solid return on investment (ROI) makes basement finishing one of the smartest upgrades you can tackle.

In some parts of the country—especially lots on swamps, high water tables, or other wetlands—local codes prohibit basements. Saturated soil puts constant pressure on foundation walls and lets water seep in faster than any sump pump can handle.

If your property sits on waterlogged ground, building on a slab or crawl space is often safer, more affordable, and code-compliant.

Most basements wrap up in four to eight weeks. Framing takes three to five days, with electrical and plumbing rough-ins following over the next week. Add five days for drywall, two to three for flooring, and another week for paint, trim, and punch-list items.

Delays can happen if materials run late or your contractor’s calendar is packed, so build in a little cushion when you plan.

Whether a finished basement counts toward your home’s official square footage depends on local rules. Many areas only include below-grade space if it has code-approved egress, fully finished walls, ceilings, and floors, plus consistent heating.

Check with your local assessor or building department before you start; meeting those standards can affect taxes, appraisals, and resale value.

Building codes require a checklist: dedicated heat and electrical service, a code-approved stairway, and at least one egress window or exterior door. Walls, ceilings, and floors must be fully finished and meet insulation, ventilation, and fire-separation standards. If you add a bedroom, you’ll also need a closet, proper clearances, and safe exits. If you change the layout later, be ready to update the space so every new room still meets today’s code.
