He pointed out problems that were minor, major, or had the potential to be major. We discussed options and timing. Since our system is old, it will be difficult to repair some of the parts and pieces while others would be fairly standard. He gave me hints on how to keep the unit running in great condition, such as shutting it off when the lawn is mowed, because it can suck in unwanted debris. Cover the top of the unit for the winter to keep anything from entering it. Rinse the sides of the unit lightly with a hose to remove debris from vent openings.
