"After dealing with one other windows company delivering an aggressive sales push apparently characteristic for this industry, it was a pleasure to interact with Matt Rotondi, the owner. He provided all the information necessary, in addition the helpful online information, before making the sale, and there was no pressure for the more expensive models. He continued to be highly responsive and courteous even after we signed on the dotted line. The installation of 26 windows was done by a contracted team on the days it was scheduled to be done, and everything went well. The windows look very nice and provide the improved insulation we were hoping for. Obviously only time will tell how they hold up in the future, but I have full confidence that Matt will honor the warranty that should cover any potential issues. After the installation, one of the windows was hard to open and another one had a very small dent, probably from the delivery, but he fixed both issues without discussion. I recommend Zen Windows without any hesitation."

"Thanks to Peter Larkin and All Out Deleading, I was finally able to close out a long, frustrating saga of getting my lead-paint-covered, dilapidated windows replaced, along with some general deleading. Just to summarize, the work was done quickly and professionally and the windows themselves are of high quality, efficient, (Mercury Excelum EOS+) and look good, too! Peter was very responsive and communicated well throughout the process, and never fed me even an ounce of BS. You might have to remember to call him sometimes, but he's always there when you do. I thought the price was very reasonable for the scope of work (about $17k for 25 double glazed windows plus assorted exterior lead abatement, clean up etc) and was definitely lower than some others I found. If you're going crazy figuring out how to navigate Mass lead laws while also getting some actually good windows out of the process, just call Peter and he'll take care of you. Anyway, read on for the saga, if you're interested. I started the process of finding someone to replace my lead-paint-covered windows last September, and let me tell you I have learned a lot more about state lead remediation requirements than I had ever imagined I would. Let me just caution anyone in the same situation that there are two licenses/certifications that a contractor can have, a "lead safe" and an "authorized deleader," and for windows you need the latter if you want to end up with a certificate of deleading. Anyway, after drudging through the state's PDF list of contractors I ended up contacting one lead remediation firm, who strung me along for a few weeks before ghosting me by November. Then I found someone else, got a quote, took measurements, was all set before discovering they didn't have the "authorized deleader" certification, which would have prevented me from getting a certificate of deleading upon subsequent inspection. So I couldn't use them. Finally I called Peter in late February to come by and take a look by early March, which he did. Then Covid-19 happened and the world fell apart just a bit. Long story short, between waiting out the surge here in Mass and general pandemic related delays, we were back on track in the summer for taking measurements and able to order the windows. In the meantime, a crew was sent over to do some of the exterior work like wrapping the sills in aluminum. Peter's crew started the installation process literally the day after the windows arrived, which was the first week of November (storing them in my garage overnight). Be aware that you'll need to be out of the house for the duration of the work. Window delivery was a Thursday, they started work Friday, by Monday the lead inspector was back in, on Tuesday the results were back from the lab, and on Wednesday we were home. I will say that the floors were cleaner then we left them, and the windows looked great. Throughout this process, Peter either picked up the phone every time I called him, or called me back right after. He was always straight and open with me regarding when things were possible, the reason for any delays, and what potential pitfalls were. He was also extremely knowledgeable about government deleading requirements and could walk me through the details, which believe me, is something you want. And in the end when it came time to pay the final installment, there were no surprises. So if you want to save yourself a big confusing hassle and solve your lead paint problem, call Peter Larkin and let him take care of it."

"March and Martin did an amazing job of applying a closed cell spray foam insulation to the underside of an existing roof in a finished home.  The house is a mid-century modern design with no attic, so the affected ceiling was directly in the living area.  The ceiling had moisture and mold issues and was removed by others, exposing the 8" joists and underside of roof.  March and Martin came in and carefully taped poly sheeting throughout the entire top floor of the house--walls and floors--such that there was no over-spray on any surface when they were done.  They completed the project in a week, while the family had vacated the premises.  The 2-3 workers per day were punctual, worked carefully, and left the house spotless when complete (the shavings from the ceiling over-spray make a mess).  The scheduler in the office communicated with the homeowner prior to the project to make sure the project proceeded as planned and promptly returned calls.  March and Martin was also much more competitively priced than another firm I had also quote the job.  I would highly recommend March and Martin for any insulation project. <br />"

"We had to replace 37 windows in our home, and Somerville Window Company was awesome. They had the best price for a high quality double hung window, and the lead time was the fastest around. Bill and his team installed the windows quickly and did such a good job on the install. Bill also took the time to teach us about the windows, including how to replace some window casings and caulk them properly. Two of the windows that were shipped to our house were the wrong size (which they identified immediately when the windows were delivered) but Bill got it sorted out quickly, and the correct windows arrived a few days later. The newly installed windows are beautiful and make such a difference. Couldn't ask for anything else, and definitely recommend them to anyone looking to replace windows!"

"[*** Link removed ***] It was ok. First day the installers arrived almost an hour late. I was told by the sales rep that the installers would clean the area where the windows were removed and also treat for mold if there was any. No mold, but the window areas were not cleaned, and the sills were not cleaned before the perimeters were caulked with silicone. Also, the installers did not clean up after the windows were installed (especially the two windows over the bathtub - debris was left in it). The windows themselves were not cleaned. No stickers removed, etc. I had to do them all and clean the adhesive off left by the stickers. Windows were left smudged & dirty. I tried to clean them myself but could not clean them thoroughly.. I have to assume there is some kind of protective coating on them because no matter what I tried (Goo Be Gone, alchohol, vinegar and finally acetone nail polish remover) I couldn’t get the windows thoroughly clean. Also one of the windows came with a half screen instead of a full screen. That was noted & is being ordered & replaced. I think a manager should come to inspect when the job is completed to make sure that the job was done to specs and that the customer was happy and that the customer is shown how the windows work and removing & replacing the screens. Supposedly there was a 20-Point Installation Review, which I do not remember them doing. And one of the installation crew certainly did not have nearly an average of 15 years of service, only a couple of months on the job. I did reach out to both the sales person and the job supervisor as well as one other rep the day of the job concerning some of these questions and got some help. Hoping that when the rep comes to deliver the screens, he might be able to clean the windows. After all, brand new windows should be brand spanking clean. And check one of the windows which seems to be slightly askew on the top. Overall, I am super happy with the way the windows look. It has transformed my condo from average, to spectacular. Once I get the screen in and the windows cleaned and possibly have the one upper window replaced, all will be perfection."

"Chris and his team were awesome they replaced 18 windows in my 120 year old house, two of which were very difficult and they did a great job. Now my house is no longer drafty and the windows look amazing. Mark was very meticulous and detail oriented, did a great job and was such a nice guy. Chris is such a great guy I would recommend them to anyone. They are genuine, honest and don't try to take advantage of people like most pros out there. Thank you for making my house a warm home finally."

"Phil and Doug were wonderful to work with- very responsive, professional, and answered all of my questions. We replaced a regular window in our home with a 7 foot bay window, which is beautiful and we absolutely love it. My one complaint was that a hole in the wall underneath the window was left following the installation, as well as some cracks, which were patched with a foamy substance but not a proper smooth plaster repair job that could be painted. We had to take care of that repair ourselves. Otherwise, my experience was very positive."

"It went great!! Let me start off by saying this review is well overdue, my apologies! Richard got back to me the same week I inquired about services and was able to provide me with a fair and reasonable quote. I am beyond pleased with the work that Paul and Arthur did, "I Absolutely Love My Front Door!!!" These gentleman were professional, punctual, polite and worked very hard to get me exactly what I wanted. They came prepared with masks on and took social distancing during this pandemic very serious which I appreciated and was pleased to see. They installed the door on my Birthday which made it extra special for me; not to mention, I had a broken stairway spoke and they replaced it free of charge! I also ordered a door knocker and they came back after I painted my front door and installed it for me with no problem!! These guys are the real deal! I will definitely be calling them back for future jobs. Thanks again guys, you Rock!!"

FAQs for new windows service projects in Weymouth, MA

Yes, bay windows add value to a home. They enhance the property by expanding the interior space and flooding rooms with natural light. Their unique three-panel design creates a stunning focal point that elevates curb appeal and modernizes living areas. This architectural detail increases both functional space and visual appeal, directly contributing to higher home resale value.

Yes, all window types have the potential to become part of a bay window configuration when modified correctly. The transformation involves reconfiguring standard windows into a multi-panel design that features a larger central window flanked by smaller ones. This process requires precise professional planning and custom framing to ensure durability, visual balance, and structural integrity.

Bay windows typically consist of three glass panels extending beyond the home's exterior walls, with a larger center panel flanked by two smaller ones. In contrast, bow windows are composed of four to six equally sized glass panels that create a gentle curve and do not extend as far from the exterior walls.

Bay windows cost more than standard windows because their expansive, multi-panel design requires additional materials and skilled labor. Their construction involves extra glass, specialized frame components that extend outward, and complex operating mechanisms. These technical demands necessitate precise engineering and multiple expert installations, thereby significantly increasing both material and labor expenses.

Bay windows cost three times more than standard double-hung windows because their design requires extra panels, expanded framing, and a more complex installation process. The advanced construction method increases material consumption and demands comprehensive expertise, while specialized window treatments further elevate expenses. This all results in a significant difference in overall project cost.
