"Our project was to replace 8 window bug screens with frames & 1 patio door bug screen with frame. Ramiro contacted me within an hour & visited the same day to view the project. Price was reasonable & whilst we had concerns about the color of the mesh screen, he promptly brought samples for us to view. The job was completed ahead of schedule & we are totally satisfied & would reccomend him without hesitation. Did I mention that he’s personable & professional? A winning combination, so if you’re looking for a company that aims for customer satisfaction, call JR Solar Screens. It’s a family company & talk to Ramiro, I’m glad that I did."

"They were fast, efficient and the shower looks awesome. I would highly recommend this company to anyone that needs repair or new installs. Everyone that entered our house, was polite, respectful and gave all possible scenarios. In the end, it came out better than I expected."

"Very well. Our new shutters/blinds install will be a 2 step process. We're waiting for the arches to arrive, and the crew will install those windows. We are tickled pink with the result. I would also be the 1st to complain if anything was not perfect. There was one shutter that didn't work, and the installation crew fixed it right away. Another note: the installation crew were very pleasant, and didn't get in my way during the day. Complete professionals. Now our house looks like a million dollar home."

"Everything went great. The company usually provides solar screens, full size of the window. I was looking to replace my bug/insect screens, that only go on the bottom half of the window. The agreed to come out leave a quote, since I couldn't be home. The quote was for $200, installed (12 windows). I had a quote from lowe's for custom made screens (which I would install myself). It was $350. I called that day to approve the job. The screens were installed approximately a week later. I appreciate that they were able to do the job w/o my being home. They left an invoice, and I called them w/ my credit card info. to pay. Nice and easy."

"I contacted Henry's Glass to get an estimate for the work, and Mark, the owner was quick to respond. For the initial appointment, he came out to take measurements and disassembled each of the different types of windows for accuracy. Within a couple of days, I received an estimate, which was fairly priced. The work was completed promptly after the glass sandwiches were available. Each step of the process was confirmed by email, and each trip to my home was preceded with a text. The windows look great. I would definitely use Henry's Glass for any future repairs or replacements."

"Solar screens came out and gave a very reasonable price and custom measured each window. Once our shades were in, they came back and installed them very quickly. Now our great room is much cooler. I would definitely recommend them."

"Everything went great. Randy came out to measure and quote the work and was right on time, knowledgable and professional in every way. He scheduled installation one week later and despite of a lot of bad weather in between kept that appointment and again was right on time. He installed the screens and the colonial divided panes in the screens matched the windows perfectly. It's rare today to find a business that actually cares about customer service and Randy at King of Screens definitely does. <br />"

"They came two hours late; they forgot some windows, there was blue cleaning product drips on fresh paint of French doors, some windows were sprayed with white dots. (they probably cleaned the windows before their brick cleaning, and didn't bother to clean the sprayed product on the windows after). I spent more than half an hour redoing their work. And we paid $490.00."

"The technician replaced a broken hinge on a kitchen cabinet and tightened hinge screws on several others.  He did not have the correct hinge for the cabinet, but quickly found one at Home Depot. In addition, he repaired a kitchen drawer that had a broken back panel.  He attached a drawer panel and drawer pulls in a bathroom.  He was punctual, pleasant and efficient.  I will definitely use them in the future. <br />"

FAQs for door or window screens install or repair projects in Willis, TX

Most off-the-shelf screens come in fixed sizes, ranging from 18 inches by 20 inches to 36 inches by 74 inches, which fit the vast majority of residential windows. If your opening falls outside that range or has a unique shape, you’ll need a custom screen built to the exact measurements. Going custom ensures a secure fit, a solid barrier against bugs, and a clean, finished look.

The decision to repair or replace your screen depends on the extent of the damage. Small holes or tears in otherwise solid mesh can be patched, and a sturdy frame usually doesn’t need to go anywhere. However, once the frame is bent or the mesh is brittle and fraying in several spots, replacement becomes a more sensible option—and often proves to be less costly in the long run. Take a close look at both parts before making a decision.

To rescreen a window, start by prying out the old spline, then lift the torn mesh from the frame. Lay the new screen over the frame, allowing about an inch of excess on all sides, and hold it in place while pressing fresh spline into the groove with a roller. Check that the mesh is taut—many pros rest a small brick on it while they work—then trim the overhang with a utility knife.

Most window screens last for 10 to 12 years. Time, sun, and weather gradually make the mesh brittle, so you’ll start to see sagging, rips, or thinning spots that let bugs get through. Check the screens each season; if the mesh crumbles or the frame warps, it’s time to replace them to keep air flowing and pests outside.

Most pros can swap out a screen in 10 minutes to an hour. A quick pop‑in replacement goes fastest, while fitting new mesh into an existing frame or working on a hard‑to‑reach upper window adds time. Either way, plan for at least a few extra minutes per screen so the installer can verify the fit and ensure the spline is seated correctly.
