We recently purchased a 2nd home on Lake James with an exterior that is 100% cedar.  The exterior was in serious need of cleaning and re-staining.  It had not been maintained; and, had a significant amount of mold staining and several areas of the trim had the original finish peeling off.

We contracted with Mike and Crystal to prep and re-stain the exterior of our home.  Throughout the process, Mike demonstrated thoroughness, competency and responsibility.  Mike and Crystal took personal responsibility to ensure they delivered a quality product.  Mike kept his commitments and did not compromise his work product even when faced with the stripping process taking more time than he expected.  He completed the project per the schedule he committed.

Mike demonstrated a high attention to detail in the finishing process and ensured the project was completed to my satisfaction.  The home looks beautiful...we could not be happier.

I solicited bids from several paint contractors and evaluated several before selecting Mike.  His pricing was very competitive versus several other contractors; but, I never observed where Mike cut corners.

I would definitely recommend MIke's Painting and will plan to use Mike again when we have painting needs.

"After a failed attempt to get another fence company to install (the company incorrectly placed a footer for post in a walkway, then simply disappeared), I contacted a number of companies to take a look at fixing what was done wrong and actually install my fence...a total of seven companies came by and gave me estimates. The Backyard Depot wasn't the cheapest, but when I met Mark, he was extremely informative, transparent on the costs, and upfront about scheduling. In addition, checking on the previous work his company has done, gave me confidence to move forward with him.
So, I contacted Mark and let him know that I'd like to hire his company. Unfortunately that was right before Christmas--the holidays, as well as uncooperative weather impacted his schedule, and pushed back my installation date by two weeks...then continued bad weather (including snow/sleet/ice) hit after his guys got started. The actual installation team lead by Wayne were extremely professional and took the time out (before they started) to go over what I wanted, along with some suggestions. Although the install time took about a week, the *actual* time (when you take time out for inclimate weather) was only three days--including removing the existing fence, installing the posts (and letting the concrete footers set), then putting up the actual fence boards. There were a couple of minor issues that the team quickly and effectively resolved based on some concerns I had.
The only negative I can come up with was the fact that there was a bit of a delay in communications between myself, Mark, and the on-site team (Wayne). Truth be told, this may have been mostly due to the fact that things were a bit hectic at that time as the company was attempting to deal with the weather's impact on their schedule...and in the end, all communications were eventually answered (even if some of it was a little after the fact). Knowing now the quality of work that Mark and team does, this concern would not at all impact my willingness to hire him and his company again.
The end result is something I'm extremely pleased with. I'd happily recommend Mark and team to others, and the next time I buy a house or need a fence repair, I'll know who to call.

"David painted the ceilings for the first floor of my home. His work was outstanding, my ceilings look amazing. My wife walked in the door after the painting was completed and was like "WHOAAAA!", she loved it. Besides, that's the review that really matters ;-). "Junior and his team are simply SPECTACULAR. They are professional, honest, prompt, and thorough, and whether you need interior painting, exterior painting, drywall repair, or staining, the quality of their work is far superior to the competition. Junior is a perfectionist who takes great pride in his work, and his work is flawless. He takes the time to do things right. If you have an older house like ours with cracks and sags in the ceilings and walls, he will leave it looking brand new without a single imperfection and with an absolutely smooth surface of paint. He takes extra special care to ensure that there is never a drop of paint where it should not be, and even if the job has required extensive sanding when he is finished your house will be cleaner than when he started. Junior costs more than the competition, but he is well worth it. We learned this the hard way. We initially went with a cheaper painting company (which, by the way, was highly rated). Boy, was this a BIG MISTAKE! The painters did such a poor job mudding our ceilings that they looked as full of imperfections as before; the paint had that horrible popcorn effect; they got paint all over our stained oak interior trim, and they left the interior of the house coated in a layer of dust from paint and plaster. If you care about your beautiful house, or if you want your house to be beautiful, call Junior and Clean Hands Painting now. ***UPDATE*** I recently (11/27/2019) wrote a stellar review of Junior’s professional, honest, prompt, thorough, and highest quality interior painting, exterior painting, drywall repair, and staining. I would like to add to what I said there by describing the quality of his work on a recent job that involved renovating our oak staircase. The sanding involved the use of both a small electrical sander and hand sanding to ensure that every area of the steps – the tread, riser, newel post, inner and outer string, balusters, and fascia – was completely and evenly sanded. He repaired damage to the wood in various areas of the steps making them look new. We decided to have the treads stained red mahogany and the strings, risers, fascia, and balusters painted black. As usual, Junior used extreme care, including taping all areas that needed to be protected when painting the railing and risers so that the newly stained treads did not get paint on them. The combined effect of the staining and painting was spectacular. The stained treads look rich, even-colored, and like new. The oil-based black paint that was expertly applied to all of the other areas of the stairs highlights the beautiful wood grain. Junior did not leave a single paint drop anywhere, and the lines that divide, for example, the treads and risers, are razor sharp. In sum, if you have oak stairs (or any kind of stairs) that you value and want expertly and beautifully refinished, stained, and/or painted, Junior is your man. I would not trust my stairs to anyone else."

"Initial paint job looked great, but they missed a couple of spots. Getting them to come back was a hassle, but after several emails, they eventually did. The patch work was worthless -- paint slapped on unprepared wood that peeled off within a couple of weeks. Now a little less than two years later and several more spots have bubbled/peeled and I tried to use the 2 year warranty I was given. 5 calls & weeks of waiting later, someone finally shows up without scheduling the day with me during a workday -- while I was out, without calling or texting. I only know they came by because they left a business card. Now they don't answer or return my calls. Such a disappointment after hiring a company primarily because I trusted the owner at his word."
