"Monday evening our dog chewed on a faucet at the back of our house and caused the faucet to break off at the pipe.  We are on a rainwater tank system, and had to turn off water to our house to keep from draining the tanks.  We called Touchstone at 8AM the following morning and they had someone at our house and had the broken pipe repaired and the faucet replaced, by 10AM. <br />"

"The compressor on my 14 year old system failed. I considered replacing just the outdoor unit but after reviewing the pro’s and con’s decided to replace both the gas fired furnace and the AC system. I ended up purchasing the mid-line Lennox system. Brandon was very helpful in choosing the system and it was installed very quickly. My last system was very quiet and son was surprised that this one is even quieter. After a couple days o cooling I am very pleased with how well it works and how even the house temperature feels."

FAQs for gas piping projects in Wimberley, TX

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
