"Without a doubt, I will call this company for any future needs. Last year, I had regular maintenance done on my furnace and they scared the crap out of me when they told me I needed a bunch of work done and repairs on my gas furnace. I held off and crossed my fingers all last winter and decided this year was finally time to face it... so began the phone calls.. then I got a return call from Parrish services. Alan, the owner, came to my house at 7 p.m. on a Friday to do a check on my gas furnace. This was after one company told me it would be a $6800 replacement job, and another told me $69 bucks just for them to come look at it and even then they would only tell me they'd call me Monday morning to confirm and then call me at some point Monday to let me know then they were within 30 minutes of being here, but couldn't give me any idea of what time that would be. Ugh. Add to the mix that I'm a single mom and I used to just pick up the phone and call my dad for advice on EVERYTHING.... he passed away a little over a year ago and this was the first major home issue that I had where I couldn't get my dad's advice... let the meltdowns begin... Alan came and put all my fears to rest. He was completely honest and said he didn't think I really needed to do anything right now. My furnace was clean as a whistle, was running fine, and he didn't see any reason to replace or repair anything. I had the filter in backwards, but ooopppsss... lol.. luckily I had another one, so that was a quick swap all was right in the world again. As a woman, it can feel like I have a great big red bullseye on my forehead when I start talking about home repairs to some of these contracting companies.... "They came in the first day and demoed the pipes and tub. This mess stayed in the front yard for four days. I was teased that my house looked like Sanford and Son. The work progressed from there. The yard did get cleaned but the bathroom was not

"We received a sales call saying the service was "going to be in our area".  Price quoted was for one 2-story chimney.
We had to cancel our first appt due to our own schedule conflict.
Second appointment agreed upon was to be within a 3-hr window, but we made clear to them that they had to be finished by 11:00, since we had to leave for another appointment.  Dispatcher said they would be the first on our schedule within the window of 8-11 am. When they did not arrive by 10:30, we phoned the dispatcher. She insisted that we were the first on the day's service list, but that they had been stuck in traffic.  (There were no major extraordinary traffic problems that day in the DC area according to the traffic reports.) And she reminded us that they were technically within the 3-hour window.  She told us they were only 10 minutes away at the time of our call, and the service would only take 30 minutes....BUT she could not account for additional unknown traffic issues.  We had to reschedule because we were afraid we would have to leave before the job was finished.
On the next scheduled time, the dispatcher called one hour in to the time window and said the service team could not leave their previous appointment site because there was a gas pipe break, and that it was against the law for them to leave before the gas company arrived.  She wanted to reschedule appt for the following morning--again within a 3-hour window.  She even offered to reduce the price because of the inconvenience.
We did not want to set ourselves up for another likely disappointment, so asked to cancel it all.  Dispatcher was very pushy, argued with us that the last event (when she claimed they had been stuck in traffic for 2-3 hours) they had actually been pulling up in front of our house when we phoned to reschedule (rather than being 10 minutes away not accounting for traffic, as she had originally said).  This differed from the truth, and so lost all confidence.
I am sure the chimney cleaning service would have been fine.  Too bad it didn't work out.
