"Called on a Monday. Lawrence was here the next morning, repairing the garage door. Very professional. Very friendly. Type of guy I'd let work on my house even if we weren't home. Very affordable too. I highly recommend 1st Choice Garage Doors, LLC."

"It went extremely well. The technician from Illinois Garage Repair was very professional and did an excellent job in replacing the garage door opener. He even went "beyond the call of duty" by programming all of my remote controls."

"DWC did an excellent job replacing my roof, siding and gutters. Jeff remained on the job the entire time to ensure the work was properly done and in a timely manner by his crew. Jeff went above and beyond replacing the siding on the gable above my garage. This had been a problem area on the house since it was built 20yrs ago. It was never nailed properly due to the wall being bowed. Jeff redid the siding and now it is straight and tight and I no longer fear a wind storm so much. DWC is very professional and I highly recommend them. They had my house done in 2 days while all my neighbors are still waiting other contractors to start on their homes."

"So far it has been good. I've been dealing with Leonard there. They are actually working with our insurance company right now so we have not actually begun the work yet. He's been out twice, I would say the first one was probably about a month ago and then there was subsequent work to be done. He came back here for a re-inspection and then it could be another month before the insurance company comes out for another inspection. I think our experience has been very good. First of all their initial responsiveness was good, and there had been other subsequent things that Leonard has done as far as providing direction or stating what's going to be done and the time frame are concerned, and he's met all of that so far so that's been good as well."

"I researched a repairman online and ended up on Angie's List. After I filled out my info there, Justin called me a short time later. This was in the evening after work hours. He came to my house the next morning. I had directly contacted another repair company that had me waiting 3 days for repair. Justin explained exactly what he found wrong. He then provided estimate for repairs. His work was fast and efficient. He showed me the faulty parts, and we figured out the initial problem was a painter had painted door exterior which stuck causing gears to hang up and gradually bend. Justin is very knowledgeable of Craftsman openers, but he also did quick fix of Liftmaster opener on single garage door (3-car garage). Friendly, professional, and good at assessing the problem."

FAQs for garage door opener repair or adjustment projects in Wolflake, IN

Garage door costs range somewhat broadly, depending on the type you choose. However, you’ll also need to factor in labor costs, which vary from state to state and between pros.

A chain driven operator costs between $150 - $250. For a belt driven operator it is usually $160 - $450. A screw-driven operator is between $250-$500.

To keep garage door opener repair costs down, you should check that the whole apparatus is working normally on a regular basis. This means making sure that the tracks of your door are greased and fully operational, and that the door itself is in good condition.

Installing a new garage door opener runs from $250 to $500 at least. If your repair costs are close in cost to that range or if your garage door is 10 to 15 years old, you should probably replace it instead of repair.

However, it’s a better idea to fix your garage door opener if it’s less than eight years old or if repair costs are less than replacing.

Garage door openers usually last between 10 and 15 years. However, several factors contribute to how long your garage door opener can last. If you schedule regular inspections and practice proper care, you can maximize your garage door opener’s lifespan, saving money in the long run. As a general rule, practice the same care for your garage door opener as you would the door itself.

These tell-tale signs indicate your garage door is going bad, including:

  • Not closing or opening at all

  • The door reversing when you try to open and/or close it

  • Inconsistent opening and closing; more noise than usual (grinding, scraping, or banging)

  • Sticking or stalling when you try to open or close it

If you experience one or more of these signs, it’s time to call a professional garage door repair service.
