"As many of you know--finding a reputable home improvement company can be quite a challenge. We had some major projects to do in our yard and initially reached out to multiple companies requesting bids on building a 40 x 10 foot pergola, repairing a cedar fence and staining another major structure in our yard. Our experience in contacting home improvement companies was so disappointing. Inaccurate bids, no shows, and people showing up that presented themselves as home improvement companies but didn’t know what the heck they were doing. The only company that took the time to provide frequent consultation, accurate estimates, multiple visits to our property and consistent follow-up was Twin City Handyman! The entire staff was attentive to our needs and the projects were well done and completed on time. A big shout out to Darren, Kathy, Cory and Johnny and other staff members who assisted in completing our projects for their expertise and attention to detail. "Hal's work is top-notch but I grew increasingly frustrated with the timing and inconsistency of his work habits. His was one of several estimates I received and basically he said he would beat any estimate I received. The difference is that everyone else was going to use cedar and he only works with pressure-treated Southern yellow pine, which is less than half the cost of cedar. I was unsure of the durability and longevity of that product so I did extensive research online. Still unsure, I drive around the Twin Cities to see other jobs Hal did that gave stood the test of time and I decided to move forward. Clearly, the way he builds his fences require considerably more manual labor than those built with cedar posts and pickets so essentially instead of paying for the higher cost of cedar, you pay for increased labor costs. Unfortunately, Hal isn't as going as predicting when he will get jobs complete as he is completing them well. He was over a month late in getting started and I repeatedly had to call him to inquire about the delay. It was quite frustrating but since I didn't absolutely need the fence done by a certain date, I decided to practice patience. Once he finally started, most days he and his helper only worked 4 hours so the project dragged on far longer than I thought it would. Admittedly, there were a couple of weather-related days but other times when it was a perfect day, they wouldn't show up and I would give no idea when they were coming again. After I told him I really needed to have him be more communicative, he was and within a short time after that conversation, he completed the fence. The fence is beautiful and appears very sturdy. We'll see how it withstands time and weather but for now I am very happy with it. Hal does beautiful work but if you are on a strict timeline I would not recommend working with him. If you are flexible and don't mind putting more effort into communication, he is a great person to work with.

He took time to explain to me how the project was going to progress and his anticipated time schedule. He relocked the garage door each time he went out for materials as I requested. "All work performed was high quality.  Good interaction with Don Hruby, the business manager, and Will Rossbach, the project manager/carpenter.  We had Rossbach Construction design and build a new island to match our current kitchen cabinets.  When we first received the new island we determined that the roll-out drawers in the lower section were not deep enough.  Rossbach Construction had new deeper drawers made at no extra cost to us.

"Greene Construction dug out large hole for egress window, used very competent subcontractor to cut the window opening with Greene Construction installing the window frame and window, put in a galvanized window well w/ladder per local building code regulations and hauled away the dirt.  I was very impressed with the professionalism of the Greene Construction crew, including company owner Damian, who said he prefers to work on the job sites over being in the office.  I also thought they went over and above the job requirements by helping me with some yard clean-up.  I had a pile of concrete scraps extracted from basement as part of my basement project.  I had asked Damian if he could dispose of them for me.  Not only did he say "yes", Damian and his crew helped me scoop up the concrete scraps and load then in his truck.
As for pricing, I had obtained approximately 5 bids and Greene Construction was right in the middle.  Based on the job completed, I would rate it a good value.  Ben was my initial contact at Greene Construction, he contacted me the day after my Angie's list inquiry and we scheduled the work after our meeting. 
In addition, I have another contractor working in my basement on the project, who also gave Greene Construction kudos for a job well done!

"Outstanding quality of workmanship down to every little detail. Did an amazing job remodeling our home. In fact we loved the work so much we also had pablo remodel our office space doing everything from completely gutting the interior and had them frame up 4 office spaces all the way down to the fine finishes. They worked super fast and did an amazing job. You name it pablo and his team can do it. Framing, drywall, painting, tile, hardwood floors, kitchen cabinets, countertops, installed new windows, siding and will be hiring them again in the spring to do my roof. Extremely friendly and did a great job cleaning up and couldnt be happier with the work they did especially for the price. We had estimates from 4 or 5 other contractors but Pablo's communication and expertise on everything we wanted to have done made us choose them over anyone else's. Couldnt be more proud of the work they have done for us and will be using prime time exteriors for anything we do in the future.
