"A couple of weeks ago, we noticed a faint smell of gas from our fireplace. We checked Google for contractors, as one does, and found Lil Joeâ s. Joe was available to come out that day to address the smell and went ABOVE AND BEYOND to ensure the leak was fixed. He added a shutoff valve to the fireplace gas line in the basement, and replaced the inner workings of the fireplace itself. We then proceeded to order gas logs from Joe and he installed those just last week. His prices are fair, he is extremely clean, and his work is fantastic. I would suggest Lil Joeâ s to anyone that is in need of a gas fireplace install or maintenance!"

"<p>They started by removing everything from the bathroom except for the toilet. I am an 81 year old woman with only one bathroom so this was a problem. Everyone who worked on the bathroom was very kind, professional and did their best to make things easy and comfortable for me, including one young man that made extra trips to make sure I had a working toilet every night. I've never worked with a more hard working, polite and caring group of young men. I had included replacing the sink drains behind the wall because I have had a slow draining or completely plugged sink drain many times. When they started doing this, they found a pipe that was starting to break so they had to replace that and the 4 inch waste and vent pipe from above the toilet to the basement floor. Shawn added a very moderate price to the original proposal. The bathroom is beautiful. They did an excellent job on the tiling, both on the floor and in the shower. I have absolutely no complaints on anything that was done to complete this project. I would highly recommend Miteff Plumbing for any project small or large. They deserve an A+ rating.</p> <br /> <br />y i <br />"

"We suspected the appliance repair person had broken our copper gas line late Friday night. Spent the night without heat. Saturday morning, I called All Weather Mechanical. Bill came out right away to check the gas line. He found the break in the house wall and leak just outside the house. On Saturday, he installed some shutoff valves so we could have our heat and water heater back on.  <br /> Monday, morning he had purchased the replacement copper and other parts. He ran the line and hooked everything up. <br /> He had to cut out a piece of basement drywall ceiling to access that part of the pipe. He brought a piece of drywall specifically to make that repair and added putty around edges. He helped move in the stove which had been sitting in my kitchen for several weeks.  <br /> He also helped me move a new dishwasher into place.  <br /> He was knowledgeable and flexible and listened to what I wanted. He only charged for the time he spent working. <br />"

"We called Michigan Plumbing on the recommendation of a (very picky) friend. The work was finished professionally, in a timely manner, and the technician was CLEAN (I have dogs that eat everything they find so that's important, too), polite, and friendly. He also did a quick repair on the bad work another plumber did a few months before, and gave me quick advice on creating an access panel for the shower. For the frozen pipes we had, one was repaired and the other, which we never knew we had and never used, was cut and capped, leaving plenty of room for the next owner to reconnect the pipe if they so choose; this was the technicians suggestion to save us a bit of money. I would happily recommend Michigan Plumbing and I am completely pleased with their quality work. Perhaps they are a little higher in price but, for the quality work they perform, it was worth it."

"I had 2 inches of water in my basement. I called All Around Plumbing and they were there the next day. They solved my problem...and even a couple more drain issues. Very good people to work with and VERY reasonable prices. All plumbers I've ever used seem to want to make a month's salary on every job...but not All Around. I'd recommend All Around in a heartbeat...I'll always use them."

FAQs for gas piping projects in Woodland, MI

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
