"Chris Inch and his co-worker, I think his name is Alex did an excellent job in repointing chimney, making masonry repairs on side of my duplex in city that required stucco repairs, caulking, repaired front porch steps. They just went the extra mile - rehung my exterior shutter and found a piece so that it could be rehung. Friendly yet very professional. They know what they are doing. I would not hesitate to hire them again. All A's except one B and that was because I got a quote back in November, and I responded with more questions but then I never heard back. Out of the blue, I get a call in January and they are ready to do my work. Very responsive once on the scene. But again, excellent job. I also think the price was very reasonable."

"Jim and Jeremy did a fabulous job. They completed scraped the whole roof then put on a primer coat and then the finished coat. This is the best I ever remember the roof looking andI have lived here for 74 years. I highly recommend them for any work. They do a great job, they do not waste time and they make sure you are satisfied. I can not say enough good things about them. Well the best thing I can say is that they made my wife happy."

"I am so happy with my new sidewalks! GRD was a pleasure to work with. They answered all my questions and concerns in a timely manner. They were hard-working and professional. I had my entire front sidewalk and curb replaced, walkways and front door steps/pad. I couldn't be happier with the outcome. Highly recommend and I would definitely use them again for future projects!"

"We had used Bill's services before. He put a retaining wall up for us and we were pleased with his workmanship and attention to detail. We had asked for 3 bids from 3 different people for the job to remove the old cement sidewalk, create a new paver (or cement) sidewalk, fix the ruts in our front yard and remove the stone slurry from our front yard from the well drilling done in November. Bill is an excellent worker and his bid was the lowest plus he could do all aspects of the work we needed to have done. From start to finish, it took 2 days! He and his crew were neat and considerate. Being a civil engineer, he gave us insight as to the layout of our yard and how he could level out the high areas and add to the low areas. He is a good communicator and we will recommend and use his services in the future!"

"Finally getting around to a review since having master bath  remodeled. Joe and Rich did a great job and tried to accomodate my needs and wishes.  They removed a 1992 whirlpool tub and molded shower and replaced it with a modern bathtub and beautiful tiled shower. The tiled floors were installed perfectly and Rich suggested radiant heat which was perfect during this cold winter. Rich installed the bathroom door as well and there was no need for any other contractor to come in to do any of the work. The bathroom looks wonderful and it is a pleasure to use it. During construction a  second floor toilet value leaked and created a mess requiring a remediation company to come in to dry walls out. They took off moulding and tore down drywall. Rich was very kind to come in and do the repairs needed to get us back to normal. I am very appreciative of his willingness to help us out though it had nothing to do with the job we hired him for.He also repaired drywall from an old leak in my foyer and saved time and money by finding a creative solution to the repair.  Pretty smart guy who knows the business.  And to top it off, during all this my laundry room sink fell off the wall and Rich jumped in to take care of that. All and all he has been there to do the work he promised and to help with these unexpected issues during that time. <br /> Thanks to Rich and Joe! <br />"

"Overall it could not have gone better. <br /> The Finkbone crew showed up as scheduled ready to go to work with some of the materials already prepared in their shop ... saving time and mess in the field (i.e. our house ;-)). <br /> The outdoor light was removed, rewired and relocated perfectly ... no remnants of the ugly old install and a seamless install of the new ... beautiful. <br /> The red oak wood trim installed is beautiful.  It was matched the existing 1"x12" red oak and seamlessly tied into and matched the existing trim in a way that made everything more sturdy and more beautiful.  OH, I almost forgot to mention ... this trim installation included 'installing' light switches in the trim itself!  Dave (Field Construction Lead) is in his wheelhouse when it comes to finishing/trim/cabinet carpentry and it shows in the quality of his work. <br /> The existing exterior vinyl siding was removed and replaced with new vinyl siding.  And again the new siding seamlessly matches/blends with the existing siding.  The Finkbone crew also did all the "under the siding" repair before installing the new siding.  We didn't want to just cover up "evils" we wanted this job done right :)  They also wrapped our house for enhanced insullation and air penetration before the siding was installed. <br /> The Finkbone crew started on time and finished ahead of schedule ... mostly because Dave was willing to stay late one day to get everything done inside so as to not have to return and impose any more than necessary.  This is nice because then we could move forward with interior decorating sooner. <br /> We don't know when our next construction project will kick off but we do know that when it does ... it will begin with a call to Bill Finkbone Construction the gang for sure.  Great guys, great quality work, at a great price! <br /> <br />"

FAQs for brick or stone siding: install or completely replace projects in York, PA

Brick siding offers numerous advantages, including high durability and resistance to harsh weather conditions, requiring minimal maintenance and lasting for generations. It provides natural insulation, enhancing energy efficiency by regulating indoor temperatures year-round. Brick is fire-resistant, improving home safety, and reduces external noise for a quieter indoor environment. Its timeless aesthetic appeal boosts curb appeal and can increase your home's resale value.

Yes, you can add brick to an existing house. One option is to remove the current siding and install full brick masonry, which involves laying traditional bricks with mortar for a solid brick exterior. Alternatively, you can opt for brick veneer siding, a thinner layer of real or manufactured brick applied over the existing structure. Brick veneer is typically more affordable and easier to install while still providing the aesthetic benefits of brick. Both methods can enhance your home's appearance and value.

Yes, installing brick siding often provides a significant return on investment. With an average ROI of around 77%, and some returns exceeding 80%, brick siding enhances curb appeal, energy efficiency, and longevity, making your home more attractive to potential buyers and potentially increasing resale value.

Brick siding is known for its exceptional longevity, often lasting over 100 years when properly maintained. Regular maintenance, like repointing mortar joints, ensures its durability over time. Brick veneer, while thinner than full brick masonry, is durable and can last up to 50 years or more with proper care. Both options offer long-lasting protection and value for your home.

When choosing brick siding, consider your budget, as costs can vary depending on brick type and installation method. Also, consider your desired aesthetic; different bricks offer various colors, textures, and styles to complement your home's architecture. Installation time and complexity are factors, with options like brick veneer being quicker and less labor-intensive than full brick masonry. Additionally, assess the maintenance requirements and durability to select the best option for your long-term needs.

Alternatives to brick siding include vinyl siding, which is cost-effective and low-maintenance and offers a variety of colors and styles. Wood siding provides a natural, classic look but requires more upkeep to prevent weather damage. Fiber cement siding is durable and can mimic the appearance of wood or masonry without the high maintenance. Each alternative has its own advantages, so consider factors like budget, aesthetics, and maintenance when making your choice.
