"I needed to replace an aging water heater with a new one. Chad, one of the plumbers, came out and gave me a quote for a gravity feed and power vent water heater. I went with the power vent model. On the day of the install, I was also having the old flue abated and Chad worked with and around the other crew to keep everything going smoothly. The installation of the venting was a little more complicated because of the layout of my house, but Chad did a great job. The final bill was the same as the bid, so no surprises when the bill arrived. The water heater passed inspection easily and I am happy with the new water heater."

"Nate is the best! We had a copper pipe leak, and Nate was able to be here within a couple of hours. He relaxed the copper section and installed a shut-off valve. I bought a custom-ordered Koehler toilet from Home Depot (never again. I then scheduled Nate to install. Short story: the toilet bowl was broken, and it would take Home Depot weeks to get get a new one. Nate called Ferguson in Plymouth — they had the same model. Nate picked it up and we had a new toilet in :45 minutes!"

"Terrible work and service. Talked to himself multiple times while working, including using profanity. Work resulted in no hot water over for my tub/shower over Easter weekend. When Chris left with our check he said everything looked good. The reality is he installed the new shower handle incorrectly, installed the new tub faucet poorly, and installed a sink faucet unevenly. The photos speak for themselves. As a result of his mistakes and unprofessional conduct we did not feel comfortable having him return to our home. We paid him $1147 and had to hire another plumber to fix the issues. We requested a partial refund of $240 which Chris has ignored. He also dated his invoice incorrectly. The invoice says October 15, 2025 but Chris did the work April 2-3 2026. I do not recommend him at all. "

FAQs for gas piping projects in Young-America, MN

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
