"We moved into a new home that has an enclosed gas fireplace. Not sure if it had been serviced, I called PLUMBTITE -they were highly recommended and I couldn’t agree more. Very professional scheduling and follow up process. Donnie took the glass out, examined and cleaned the working parts, and answered every question I had. I wouldn’t hesitate to call PLUMBTITE again. It was money well spent!"

"When installing a new refrigerator, the knob to turn the water off fell off in the service man’s hand and water was going everywhere. We had to turn the water off to the whole house. In a panic I found Home Advisor and after inputting my info, Amy from Mr. Rooter called within five minutes. After looking at her schedule, she said a tech would show up in 30-60 minutes. Don’t remember the time exactly, but Mike D. showed up in about 35-45. After inspecting the problem, he gave me an estimate. He said that there was a slow leak that had messed up the drywall and he had to cut it out. He installed all new pipes, bought a 2x4 because the new box was smaller than the old box and basically redid the entire site. Mike was so nice and explained everything he did. He realized that I was stressed and made every effort to make this process as easy as he could. If the service men would have brought the new refrigerator inside, Mike D. would have installed it for me. (They came back later and there were no issues installing the new fridge). When I first got the estimate I thought it was high, but I had no choice. In retrospect, I received much more value for my money. I will hire Mr.Rooter and Mike D. for any future plumbing projects."

"Dan Niceley was amazing! He immediately diagnosed the problem and fixed it with an easy, quick process! I also asked him to look at a sink gurgle which I had another plumber try to diagnose, who spoke about a long, convoluted, expressive process. To fix. I dismissed him. Dan diagnosed and fixed the problem within 10 minutes!"

"The young man came to the door, introduced himself. We had a good opening conversation. I explained my concern about our gas fireplace. He immediately checked for a gas leak, there was none. He explained to me what could have happen to cause the sound. Ethan, great personality, explains what he’s doing and assured me that there’s no problem. Give this man a raise and promotion."

"The workers from Mr. Rooter did a fine job. They were good. The pipes were 30 feet below the yard, so they had to dig up to replace it. It was a messy job. We have had no problems with the work done so far. However we did have some issues with the price. They initially quoted us a price but they kept changing it. We had to hold them firm on the original price that was quoted. Finally, we worked out an agreement that was mutually acceptable. I would recommend that people get a quote in writing. Our quote was verbal so it was easy for them to get wishy-washy with their price. I would probably not use them again in the future."

FAQs for gas piping projects in Cincinnati, OH

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
