"Great job......especially as it was a bit "tricky" as removal of the original shut off was very corroded as it was leaking.....and rusted due to it being old galvanized piping and connection length from the main to house was limited."

"All they were interested in was selling new a furnace and air conditioner. ?They put in the wrong Freon.? They overcharged the unit and it leaked out all over. The system kept shutting down.? ?Another company came out and said everything was fine but it was because of the wrong Freon.? We had previously used them for 10 years. ?The technician that was good has retired. They read my review and refunded my money and apologized for everything."

"The Archway staff were very nice with one exception. The financial person was a bit upset and short with me because she called me at work and wanted me to come home at lunch to sign paperwork. I had been told previously that I did not need to be there and just needed to have someone there to let them in. I left my 33 year old son there with my credit cards for payment which I had been told would be fine. It was not possible to come home at lunch as I don't even have that much time at lunch to get home. The saleswoman was great and even came to my home after I got home so that I could sign the paperwork. <br /> <br />The installers were polite and very prompt according to my son and I could hardly tell they had been there when I got home. I was extremely embarrassed because I had been sick for awhile and my home was very untidy, but all of them were very polite and told me not to worry about it. They still took the time to be sure to clean up after themselves. The installers also had to put in a cold air return as mine drew directly from under the house with no ductwork. This helped my dust problem and made it where they did not have to disturb the radon mitigation system that is under my house. I appreciated Archway's help coming up with this solution. I am pleased with the service I got from obtaining interest-free financing through their website to the installation. I would recommend them to anyone needing HVAC work. <br />"

"Water was not going down the garbage disposal and was backing up into dishwasher. I found Ed Bellm Plumbing on Angie's List, called and got an immediate response. Clayton arrived within 20 minutes of my call, quickly assessed the situation and cabled the drain pipe in kitchen. There was a great deal of sludge in the pipe, which I suspect was packed full from dumping and cleanup from a remodeling job, and the basement stack and drain had to be cabled as well. Clayton was quick, professional, effective, and cordial. He fixed my problems, gave good advice, cleaned everything up nicely and was done withing an hour. I am very happy with the service and will definitely use them again. Thank you!"

"In a wonderful karmic twist, when I hit a dead possum with my car, it knocked something loose underneath. On the side of the road I looked under there and saw a hanging piece of metal. The metal of the exhaust system didn't look exactly clean and sparkly (as in, red and rusty instead), so I figured I was going to have to chop off some limbs to pay for this. I drove in and handed off my key. Five minutes later they handed back my key. "All set" he said. But, but I spluttered. He said it was the heat shield and it's all set. Wildly happy I drove away. You can bet I'll be back when something goes wrong again!"

"This company installed the furnace and A/C in my home, before I purchased it. I had them perform the routine furnace cleaning and adjustment. I also had them come back on another occasion to clean the duct work. They are reasonably priced and do a good job. I would use them again. They seem honest and trustworthy. Because they are a very small company, I did have trouble once getting in touch with the technician, when he was out of town."

FAQs for gas piping projects in Columbia, IL

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
