"It was almost perfect. There was a slight problem with the tub spout leaking, which was not the fault of Kitchen and Bath. They came back out when the problem was discovered and was able to order a new spout and install that without any more issues."

"When my husband and I purchased a condo in Perdido Key, Drew Patterson was recommended to us for general touchups before we took occupancy. We met and set up a plan that he immediately put in effect. Before he completed that job, Hurricane Sally heavily damaged our beachfront unit. Just from the little contact we had previously, I knew Drew Patterson was a master carpenter, as well as a perfectionist when it came to his work and reputation. We were on a year long journey together, as Covid and Sally had wreaked havoc on any building and supply chains. As we lived out of state, he weekly kept us up to date on all the projects we had in play. My husband and I would visit monthly and view for ourselves what was going on. Never have we worked with a more knowledgeable, capable ,and personable person. As sheetrock was replaced by another contractor hired by the COA, Drew would point out to us imperfections we hired him to redo that work. All in all, he and his crew repainted our entire unit, installed cabinets, moved furniture and did things that nobody else could do because so many gulf coast properties had been ravaged by the storm. Not many owners had a trust worthy Drew Patterson to get things done, and do them right, so we felt fortunate to have him . We ended the with a totoally refreshed and completed condo, as well as, a friend that we affectionately call our son, contractor."

"We own the <strong>“house from h***”</strong> where everything was “stick built” in 1979 with great care to avoid being straight, flat, flush or plumb in any respect. So, these guys had their work cut out for them and after work began, a lot of “fixes” had to be though up to accommodate less-than flat walls and floors and we were not always comfortable with their solutions.. They came out to the house several times and made many measurements – sometimes three or four times. After a number of visits to the design center, we settled on a cabinet style and the scope of the project. Work began in October 2011 and should have taken about four weeks. When they began installing the base cabinets, we found that they mis-measured for one of the corner units which threw the measurements/ placement of everything else off. They offered to take the offending corner base cabinet back to the shop and work on it until it fit properly. I insisted that I wanted a newly manufactured cabinet of the correct size. Since I was writing large checks for this project for new correctly-sized cabinets, I was unwilling to allow them to modify the oversize base cabinet. That meant that there would be a significant delay incompletion (from before Thanksgiving 2011 until January 2012) to allow time for manufacture of the new base cabinet. For some reason, they also decided to stop work on the guest bathroom as well as stopping work on the kitchen. After some discussion, they agreed to go ahead and complete the guest bathroom. To gain some additional storage space, we agreed to go with a “kitchen sized” vanity cabinet (taller and deeper) in the guest bath. That meant that we could not buy an “off the shelf” cultured marble vanity top and, at extra cost, we had to have a custom vanity top manufactured. Eventually the newly-built corner cabinet arrived and work began anew – until we discovered the sink was off-center beneath the kitchen window due to some more mis-measurements. More discussions ensued and we eventually arrived at a workable solution. So about four months after initiation, the remodel was finally completed – just as we’d gotten used to having the refrigerator in the living room but cooking in the dining room on the microwave. The company has some aversion to using an actual formal contract that spells out specific work and specific costs which made us uneasy – they use something they call a proposal which lumps work and costs together. (Mike Holmes from the TV show “Holmes on Homes” would have had a cow.) After contacting some previous customers, we decided we could live with the proposal method although we never did feel totally comfortable with it. They did good work but you’ll want to triple-check their measurements. We’ll probably use them again when we remodel the master bath room. I’m glad we agreed to the recessed light fixtures – with LED bulbs. We have lots of light for very little energy usage. <br />"

"I chose to use South Wind Development to remodel my apartment complex after using the company to repair another contractors remodel snafu in my personal home. After dealing with a horrendous contractor, Keith and Rob completely remodeled my kitchen and installed tile flooring, lighting, baseboards, and a long list of other things to make my home livable again. Because of the quality services and professionalism they showed while working in my home under extremely difficult circumstances, I looked them up again when it was time to remodel my rental properties and continue to recommend the company to both family and friends. In the apartment remodel, Rob and Keith not only completely remodeled two apartments including completely changing the layout of the kitchen but work in two additional units with current tenants. They set up times with the individual tenants as to when they could complete several projects from new exterior doors and locks being installed to new appliances and hot water heaters and even an entire bath/shower combo and left the apartments in as good or better shape than the tenants left them. It's rare but these guys even clean up after themselves. All of the crew was very nice and behaved professionally when working in my home and my tenants home. Now to top it all of the company is reasonably priced compared to other contractors in the area. I highly recommend them for any home remodeling project, big or small. <br />"

FAQs for outdoor kitchen building service projects in Destin, FL

Building your own pizza oven can be a cost-effective option if you already possess the necessary firebricks or materials and have the skills to complete the project. When you have the required supplies on hand, you save on material costs and labor fees. However, if you need to source every component, a pre-made kit may not deliver the same savings.

Fire bricks are engineered to withstand the high temperatures generated inside a pizza oven, protecting the structure from cracking or spalling. Standard bricks can fail under intense heat, potentially damaging the oven and creating safety risks. By using true fire-rated bricks, homeowners maintain consistent cooking temperatures, preserve the oven’s structural integrity, and reduce the likelihood of costly repairs. The modest increase in material cost is offset by longer service life and safer operation.

An optimal pizza oven installation positions the opening exactly between 36 and 48 inches above the ground to guarantee clear visibility and safe, comfortable access. This height optimizes heat distribution and ergonomic use. In addition, dome height can vary: shorter domes produce the signature soft, charred crust of Neapolitan pies, whereas taller domes are ideal for generating the robust baking environment required for New York–style pizzas.
