"Can't say enough good things about this company. Our central air went down, and Louisiana HVAC was the only service that would come out on the same day. We needed a new part, as it turned out, but Dax was able to perform a temporary fix, which held up perfectly. Two days later, he was back with the part. Had it fixed within an hour, and the price was reasonable. Dawn kept us updated throughout the entire process. If we need service again, we are definitely calling them first."

"Tommy and his partner, Scott Picou, just do a terrific job. They are punctual, dependable and do quality work at very competitive prices. This is the second large job they do for me and I can definitely recommend them. I did not list prices because jobs can vary quite a bit and it's better to call and get a custom quote. <br />"

"Awesome - Dr. Pipe has always given me good service at a fair price. They may not be the cheapest, but they are real pros. After Katrina I discovered I had a commercial sprinkler system in my ceiling. The contractor said it would take SIX WEEK to remove. I called Dr. Pipe, Steve came out and took one look and to the minute 30 minutes later it was done!!! Anything weird or really complicated is right up their alley. They are the only plumbers I really trust."

FAQs for gas piping projects in Harvey, LA

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
