"I booked them on the day after Christmas. We recently bought a new home with a wood burning fireplace and I wanted to make sure that everything was in order in the chimney as we started using it. Two guys came on site, they were professional and did a good job. The price was great. $105 for the cleaning. I recently had my chimney cap fly off during the high winds at the end of February. I called on Tuesday morning for a service call to reattach the cap. When I mentioned I was concerned about the coming rain, they worked me in same day. Very happy with this cougot's."

We have been dealing with several contractors because we have an older home that needs updating in every room. "We had been pricing siding replacement for the last two years, and the best price we received was from Jacob's Ladder. We had previously replaced numerous boards fiber boards at the foundation all around and splash areas around our front and back porches ourselves over the last 15 years, but the west side was only saved by an exceptional paint job about 9 years ago by another Angie's List A rated painter. Following a screened porch enclosure and kitchen remodel by another Angie's list A rated contractor this summer, we decided to replace the west side and north side where the remodel occurred, and got an updated quote from Jacob's Ladder. They were several thousand less expensive than our next lowest "old" quote, and we were impressed with their quality of work on other local jobs, as well as excellent reviews from Angie's. The entire process was smooth and without any issues. We were kept up to date with material and equipment deliveries, and work started and finished in the scheduled week. Justin kept us informed as the start of work approached, visited the job during installation, and followed up immediately following completion to see if we were pleased, had any issues or questions, and to schedule remaining material pickup and dumpster removal. The crew kept the site clean and picked up daily, arrived promptly each day, we're courteous and answered any questions we had during the process. Since we were only doing two of the 4 sides of our home, Justin discussed the transition points between old and new work, helped us pick the best option to handle them until we're ready to proceed. They will be our choice for the remainder of the work on the east and south sides, and our first contact for any repair, painting or exterior remodeling we need in the future."

"There were some minor communication issues at the beginning of the job as we were in Richmond when work began. Major issues were discovered by Stevens workmen when the original roof was removed. Management recommended a contractor who removed a sliding door and replaced it with a window. The third party contractor did a wonderful job, but the billing process was poor. They were expensive, but we felt we were treated fairly by both Stevens and the contractor. We were very pleased with the quality of all the work that was done. The roof work was $9,000. The contractor's work was in addition to that. Interestingly near the end of our project the contractor and Stevens merged their businesses, which I think will create and even better Stevens. Stevens will benefit from the contractor's expertise and the contractor will no longer have to bother with administration, which Stevens did well."
