"We have used InstaPlumbing a few times now. Our home is old, and the previous owners liked to fix things themselves, but they didn't know what they were doing, so InstaPlumbing has done everything from basic leaks to replacing fixtures and mixed matched, improperly pitched PVC and corroded meta pipes. They have always been straight forward about the work and cost. Customer service is excellent, from the office to the plumbers. They are very accommodating with scheduling. When we have had plumbing problems, like a major leak the night before Thanksgiving, they were ready to help. I highly recommend InstaPlumbing."

"It was after 5pm on a Friday and my kitchen sink was clogged and the pipes underneath were in pieces because the auger I had bought in an effort to DIY had ripped them apart. I was desperate to get this taken care of before the weekend. I was referred by HomeAdvisor to John Mansolf who immediately called me back. He no longer has a roto-rooter but graciously referred me to another plumber, Benny Medina (203)909-1099,who also answered right away. He was on another job but promised to get back to me. At 9pm on a Friday night, he came to my home, unclogged the clog and put my pipes together and charged a very reasonable price. I'm so happy I contacted Home Advisor! I'm just recently moved to CT and so I don't know any contractors."

"I usually go through Home Advisors for repairs and projects. This time I did not. I contacted Alpha Home Service through a family referral. Raul from Alpha contacted me immediately, set a time and was at my home at the time provided. I received an alert 20 minutes before his arrival. He quickly got to work and found that our main pipe and a couple of others were clogged due to our misuse of our garbage disposal. He showed me pictures of the pipes before and after. Raúl was very pleasant, courteous, organized and made sure that we were satisfied. If you need a plumber and are in the Middlesex County, CT area give Alpha Home Services a call. Raúl is thorough, organized, respectful and very reasonably priced. You ll receive top notch service and not pay a premium or feel deceived. I will recommend Raul and his company to all my friends and relatives."

"Visit 1: Technician diagnosed as Ignition OK but pilot goes out after 30 seconds and tries to light again. Pilot flame is not reaching flame sensor. It was determined to be non-functioning gas valve. Visit 2: Technician installs new gas valve and same issue. Visit 3: Another technician comes and determines real issue to be a plugged orifice. Issue is resolved. Technicians were professional and helpful and was disappointed that it took 3 visits to diagnose this issue and family had no heat for 6 days."

FAQs for gas piping projects in Wallingford, CT

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
