"Repairman was Tyler, who showed up promptly as scheduled. He put in several hours tracing the problem of the gas pilot not staying lit. He managed to get the pilot to light, but he observed that the gas flow was weak. Turned out he had to install a new pilot assembly. He was efficient and thorough and did not give up until he was sure the fireplace was operating properly. I am very satisfied with the outcome."

"This company is awesome! From the first plumber that came out to inspect my pipe to the last day, they were hard working, able to answer questions, and cleaned everything up. I couldn't have asked for a better company to deal with during such a stressful time.  They even stayed until after midnight the first night to make sure we had working plumbing  because my roommate was in a wedding the next day. They went above and beyond and it is much appreciated.  I would highly recommend this company to anyone.  They were referred to me by S and W Plumbing in Taylor (they refer out sewer work).

"Jay Brown was here on 07/21/23 to replace my 70 year old copper nat gas line from my 19 year old dryer & put in a new gas shut off valve. He did a masterful job of connecting new black pipe from where it splits to the meter on the right to the hot water heater on the left. I watched how proficient he is by cutting pipes & connecting them around 15 ft width & then around a shorter pipe which then connects to the yellow multiple sized plug for any type of dryer you get. I must say that the job looks perfect doesn’t leak & it was fairly priced. I would highly recommend him to do this job because it is dealing w/ combustible nat gas & since he has done many of these over the years he knows how to do it correctly & safely. Now that my nat gas line is up to code, all I have to do is wait till my new dryer arrives soon so it will be installed. I would highly recommend Jay Brown for his professionalism & his willingness to answer any ?’s you have. I now have a plumber I can count on!"

"Fantastic. John told me what he was going to do (a). gentle removal of the cause of the clog or b). snaking, which is harder on old pipes). He told me what I might have to have done if those options didn't work. Fortunately, he was able to clear the clog and THEN he said since I don't rely on a septic tank, the best way to keep drains free is to pour a couple of cups of bleach down my drains (one drain per week) and flush with hot water after a couple of hours. By the way, they are also known as Masterworks Plumbing, if you are looking them up. Can't say enough good things about them!"

"Levine n sons came at the last hour of the time slot which was around 5 pm they looked tired, a lot of conversation took place outside with themselves before they came in to my house and discuss things with me, I had a list of things needed to be fixed or checked out starting with the dripping in the tub from the faucet, and flapper valve in the upstairs toilet, the leak under the kitchen sink, and the clogged valve in the window well, the dripping from the dishwasher, the reconnection of the water purifier in the kitchen(4 days later stated to drip again), the clogged upstairs sink, after walking through the list totals of the bill became  more more expensive, it was more work according to the way they explained things to me. these were simple things to fix, for the tub dripping they claimed they would have to go in through my
daughter's bedroom wall, for the clog in the sink since there was a patch on the connection pipe on the outside of the pipe they would have to remove the whole pipe below put in a new one unrealistic, for the toilet flap my toilet was an antique toilet and parts was hard to fine and expensive the downstairs toilet is the same upstairs it was replaced with current replacement parts not the original parts so I did not understand the extra cost for upstairs , they wanted to replace the whole toilet which run me into the hundreds, I lost a lot of value of the coupon because they could not complete everything on my list and it was explained to me they could not use the  rest of the amount toward credit if I was to accept any of the estimated jobs  and that frustrated me as well.

"Secondly, I was seeking estimates to replace my aging Amana 90% natural
gas furnace in my primary residence. It is located in a Michigan
basement so it has numerous environmental factors that are corroding the
unit. I fear it may not make it into the winter of 2013. He explained
the models and  the representative was thorough and told me about
current Government-allowed-tax-deductions for installing newer and more
energy efficient units.( I bought my original furnace from them in
January of 1993.) He wrote me up a bid promptly. Unfortunately, the job
would well-exceed my budget for the time-being. They were at my
property before for the  furnace and have ALWAYS a great job!  I wish I
could afford to have this new job done--they would certainly be in the
running!

"Our Chimney sweep, Jason, did and excellent job. First he inspected up on the roof top. Then he cleaned and did a safety inspection of our gas insert. He explained what he found and how we can use our fireplace more safely. He answered our questions and gave recommendations for our future fireplace remodel."

FAQs for gas piping projects in Ypsilanti, MI

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
