"We hired Bill to do our kitchen remodel, which consisted of a small kitchen, dining and sitting area, all with the same floor in common. We had researched many, many contractors, partially because one had walked out on us just prior to cabinets being ordered. Needless to say, we were somewhat guarded when we had to start the search all over again. Bill was very personable and patient from the start. He communicated well, provided a detailed quote, and answered our many questions along the way. Bill and his crew were courteous, knowledgeable, and tidy. It was apparent that they were skilled craftsmen, who took pride in their work and cared about the finished product. Bill made it clear from the start he wanted us to be happy at the end of the job. We noticed things along the way that other contractors would have or could have cut corners on, but Bill and his crew were very detail-oriented and worked together to find the right solutions. He uses quality subcontractors, and it was very comforting to hear them speak highly of him as well. We now have the beautiful kitchen we had waited so long for thanks to Bill and his crew, and we would highly recommend them. Bill knows how to run a business. Thank you, Bill!"

"We signed a contract with Sure Fix on April 5th for painting, carpentry, tile work, plumbing and electric work totaling over $25,000 to remodel the house we had just moved into. Sure Fix's performance was decidedly mixed, and we would not hire them again. 1) 5-6 WEEKS LONGER THAN ESTIMATED Before selecting Sure Fix, Henry the owner told us the project would take TWO TO THREE weeks. In reality, they took EIGHT WEEKS, or 3-4 times longer than the estimate. 2) LATENESS NOT DUE TO ADDITIONAL WORK We added and subtracted work items after the work began, and the net cost of additional work only totaled about 20% more than the original price--a workload justifying only a few days of extra labor, and not a 5-6 week overrun. 3) ON MANY DAYS, DID NO WORK ON OUR PROJECT There were many days when only 1 or 2 workmen worked for just a few hours, and at least 10 entire days when no workmen came at all. This was a matter of health for us, as my boyfriend has asthma and was adversely affected by the dust that the prolonged work period exposed us to. 4) THEY JUGGLE MANY JOBS AT THE SAME TIME Tony, the project manager, justified his periodic abandonment of our project by writing: "We have several jobs going on and we have to be fair to everyone." We felt, however, that being fair to us would mean completing our project, without gaps of inactivity, in 2-3 weeks as promised--but that did not happen. Instead, Tony wrote on a day when no work happened: "I have other jobs to do." 5) MADE MAJOR MISTAKES COSTING US TIME AND/OR MONEY Among other mistakes, a whole week was lost when Sure Fix erred by ordering a custom countertop made of the wrong material. In the end, Henry charged us an extra $1,500 for the substitute higher-grade material we ultimately selected, but we would have been happy with our previous choice for $1,500 less. 6) STOPPED COMMUNICATING AFTER LAST PAYMENT, LEAVING WORK UNDONE After we made final payment, we could see that final touch-ups had been done with the wrong paint, and those touch-ups now required touching-up themselves. We texted Tony several times and left a voice mail for Henry to schedule the fixes still due, but neither of them bothered to answer us. SUMMARY Their workmen were friendly and the work was generally good. But on balance, we would certainly not hire Sure Fix again. Photos of some of the work that Sure Fix left uncorrected are attached."

"Shawn (Caboose Crew Construction) converted my side porch into a curbless walk in shower and bathroom, he also put a new roof on my house with a subcontractor he likes to use Shawn did all the wood repair work and oversaw the whole installation project of the shingles, he also redid all my sidewalks and drainage spouts and pipes and he subcontracted the concrete work but Shawn did all the framing and prep work ,and the landscaping work was subcontracted also but Shawn was involved himself through the whole project. Shawn’s also had done some smaller projects for me. I highly recommend Shawn (Caboose Crew Construction). I’m very pleased, I feel I’m a fairly fussy person but he was very gracious and he worked with me (put up with me) through everything. Darian Stephens"

"I am extremely pleased with the work done by Carriage House.  The furniture was collected from an apartment, initially to be refurnished, but after further examination it was determined that the pieces needed to be refinished.  The work was completed in the time established and was then delivered to my home.  The 2 dressers and nightstand look beautiful, I couldn't be happier.  Diane and her staff did an outstanding job - I would highly recommend Carriage House!!!

"We hired Sure-Fix to do multiple jobs. The owner, Henry, came to our house and we walked him through all of the projects we want done and he provided good feedback and ideas. He also understood that this isn't our forever home, so while we do want to make it nicer, some projects are not worth putting money in to. They gutted our mudroom, replaced the old exterior door, closed in a window to provide better space functionality, built shelves in the mudroom closet to make it a pantry, insulated the room, rebuilt the unstable steps, instead outlets, base board heater, and new lights, replaced the flooring, replaced the roof over the mudroom, put up dry wall, and painted. They also installed a new exterior door in our sun room, replaced five old windows, and installed new outlets in our office. The workers were all very nice and you could tell they know their trade. They told us if we discovered an issue they would come fix it. Good customer service."
