"I came home from work to find our 40-gallon water heater was not working (it was working that morning). The pilot was out and I could not get it re-lit (I do know how to light a pilot) After checking a number of companies on Angie's List, I contacted DB's Plumbing and Drain. Although it was almost 6pm, a very nice person answered the phone and I explained my dilemma. I was told they could send someone that night but would have to charge an after-hours rate. I was reasonably certain what was wrong would not be a simple fix like re-lighting a pilot so scheduled a visit for the following morning between 10 am and 12 noon. Michael D arrived shortly after 10 am. He was very courteous, polite and professional. Before entering my home, he donned a pair of shoe covers which was kept on as long as he was in the house. He diagnosed the problem as being a failed main burner system. As the water heater was 14-years-old, I weighed the cost of replacing just the main burner system on such an old unit against replacing the unit itself. I opted for the water heater replacement. Michael setup the old unit to drain while he went to retrieve the new one from their warehouse which took him about 45 minutes. Upon his return, he removed the old unit and cleaned up the area. He then cut back the existing copper lines to eliminate the numerous soldered couplings from the previous homeowner's repairs. He installed new copper pipes including a new quarter turn shut-off valve. A catch pan was placed and the water heater setup in it. Up reconnecting the gas line, he installed a sediment trap or drip leg (it did not have one previously) which catches sediment sometimes present in natural gas. After bringing the system online, Michael checked the gas line connections for leaks using a detection monitor. The installation was clean and neat and it is obvious Michael is conscientious about his work. Always interested in how things in my home work, Michael was very gracious in answering my questions regarding the installation. I am very happy with the install.and would like to thank Michael for his professionalism and the education."

"I called because the water from the washing machine was not draining, but coming up through the floor drain. Luis came out and tried to snake out the floor drain with the snake he had on his truck. He had to cut an access hole to get to the line more directly, avoiding the trap below the floor drain. He put out 60 feet of snake, but did not reach the clog. He repaired the access hole in the line, and said another crew would come the next morning with a larger and longer snake. Next morning, at the appointed time, David showed up with the larger snake, this time going through a "cleanout" port on the main line.  He used all the snake he had, still needed more, and called for backup. Within half an hour, a truck with more snake arrived, and he continued until the clog was cleared.  He had to go all the way through the main sewer line in the house, under the yard, and out to the middle of the street into the county sewer line, over 150 feet.
I was impressed by their work for these reasons:
1. I called about 10 AM, and explained that I could not meet them before 3:00 PM.  The dispatcher worked around my schedule, promising the crew would arrive between 3:00 and 5:00, a very narrow time window. They arrived exactly at 3:00, and started work promptly. In my experience with home repair, getting such a precise window of time is unusual, as is working around my schedule.
2. They were very respectful of my moms house, keeping everything as clean as possible.
3. They explained all possible charges in advance. Given the amount of time this job required, I thought their charges were very reasonable. The job was much more involved than any drain-clearing I have ever had done before.
4. They could have sold me a camera inspection of the line, but since the clog was gone, they said it wasn't really necessary

"We had a pipe break in our first floor bathroom at 1:00 am on Sat and a lot of water poured out and the first floor was completely flooded. After contacting 3 other plumbers with no success because they were busy with other customers, I went to home advisers and requested emergency service from several plumbers in the area and Rene from R plumber called within 10 min and was at our house within the next hour (very prompt). We had no idea where the water was coming from and Rene was very upfront about what needed to be done as far as cutting holes in the wall to find the source. He cut one hole in the bathroom ceiling and found a pipe completely severed which he was able to fix an restore water. His customer service was superb. THANK YOU VERY MUCH RENE!"
