"Al's Plumbing is the best. They called me right away when I requested a quote from several plumbers. Al the owner called me. I explained I had a Water Heater under warranty that was placed by Parker & Sons 4 years ago. They wanted to charge me almost the same price as I paid for it 4 years ago just to replace it. They said that is for the labor but it was under warranty. Al was super professional and very helpful. Al replaced it in a couple of hours and we had hot water! I will only use Al's Plumbing for all my Plumbing services. He is honest and gets the job done. Thank you Al!!"

"The three men repaired the leak.  I have not had to have similar work done before, so I don't know how to evaluate the overall quality of the work.  The water leak was solved.  However, there were several things that I did not like about how the workman did the work.  I guess they thought they had me at a weak point, because they did a hard sell to get me to buy a premium plumbing inspection package that they claimed would qualify me for lower price on parts (I do not know whether they did in fact give me the lower price that they promised because the invoice was difficult to read.  To do the bypass of the broken pipe, the workmen had to cut four holes in the drywall.  The holes they cut seemed rougher (and thus more difficult and costly for me to get repaired) than would have been necessary.  One hole needed to be cut in the drywall behind my almost new water heater.  They pressured me into buying a new water heater, saying that it would cost the same to install a new water heater as to putting the existing water heater back after completing the bypass.  I don't think that was actually true.  During the two days that the men were working to bypass the broken pipe, a nice compact pump that I had to inflate my auto tires disappeared from the counter top where I had it stored near my back door.  Also, to test that the bypass had solved the leak, one of the men poured water from a bottle he had been drinking out of into my water line.  That was an unsanitary and I felt disrespectful act.

The product we got was the Sanitech Pro-Line for the water softener.. The control unit they use is rated one of the best in the industry. A day after the install, there was a very small leak (small drip) on one of the lines under the sink. I called, and they sent someone out immediately. "La Darian was terrific. He came to inspect the plumbing and discovered that the house needed a water pressure reducing valve due to high pressure. In addition, the water heater was nearing its end of life. He was very knowledgeable, professional and personable. He worked within my time frame on consecutive days. "After looking over the reports on Angie's list, I decided to go with Thornton Plumbing based on reports. My husband called July 1, and received an apology that they would not be able to come out that same day-which we would not have expected! Service was set for the following day with a time frame from 9-10:00AM. We did not ask for an estimate of the job. Mike arrived right on time at 10:00. We introduced ourselves, and Mike went to work. I asked if there was anything we could do to assist, and when he opened the cabinet door below the sink and saw that it was cleared out, he said, "Nope, this makes me smile." Due to the hard water we have in Phoenix, there was a build up of water marks around the base of the old faucet. We have a Corian countertop that can be sanded with a fine grit of sand paper to remove the water spots. We did not have any of the needed sand paper, and Mike stated he would bring in a mesh sheet from his truck that could work. He did not have to do so, but removed the water spots (and crust) with Soft Scrub and the piece of mesh prior to installing the new faucet. The installation took approximately 40 minutes. When asked for any tips with maintenance, Mike suggested taking action at the first signs of a leak that could mean replacing only necessary internal parts rather than a whole faucet. It was also a plus having the $20 coupon offer from Thornton for the work performed."

"My husband had replace our existing faucet with a new one and had turned the water off at the outside valve  when he went to turn the water on the old gate valve froze shut there for we had no water inn the entire house. This part took place in the late afternoon. I arrived home from work at 3:30 and proceeded to Angies List to locate a plumber, after calling about  5 Above and Beyond Plumbing being one of them. I specifically was looking for one close by in our area as we live in the E valley. I had left a message with Rich about my problem and he returned my call not to long after he got the message. He said he could be here by 6 pm and of course we agreed.
At about 6 pm he again phoned & said he was running a little late and it would be another 30 min. He did arrive at approx. the time he said and got right to work with the valve. Our prior conversation on the phone he also told us about what the cost would be. He performed the work in a timely manner and made sure our water was on and running.. We will call then again if needed and recommend them to anyone that needs excellent service. We were very please do to the fact he was able to come as soon as he did and felt the price as fair. I rated the price as  a "B" as I do not know how much it would run with other company's.
