"I called for a service  on March 6, 2015 and the set up the appointment for between 1 and 4 pm, on March 9, 2015.
The called me again on March 9 at 10 am and reset the appointment for 11am and 12pm on March 9, 2015 as their repairman had a opening.  I agreed to the change and waited until 11:30 am and called them and said I had not heard from the repairman.  They assured me that he was on his way..  At about 12:30 the called me and said he could not make it because he had to take someone to rehab appointment, but said they would get someone there between 1pm and4 pm.
At 3:50 pm a guy in a delivery truck came to look at the softener..  He looked at the softener and after 5 - 10 minutes found that the new water I had installed 2 month ago, was sitting on top of the discharge water tubing preventing the softener from operating
Since he did not have a service truck he could not fix the softener.  He offered to send another service truck out the next day, but  I would have to pay another service charge.  I declined and said I would go to the hdwe store and buy and install a new tubing for the softener..
I was told over the phone that the service charge was going to be. $78.00.  What I wasn't told was that there is a$2.00 a minute charge for the time the "serviceman" was at my home for a total o $20.00.  I also was not informed that there would be a FUEL SURCHARGE of $4.96.  After reading this I decided I can not afford to call these people ever again.

"During a recent rainstorm, we checked our panel box and found that we had water sitting on and leaking around our breakers. We called and Randys responded promptly. Tom was thorough, professional, and friendly. He identified several areas where water was getting in and discussed with us the hazards of corroded breakers (and they were clearly corroded), water sitting on the breakers, and the potential remedies. We decided to replace the entire panel plus the leaking box that held the meter and Tom worked to expidite the extensive project for the next day. Project included shut off of power for entire day with Tom and Nick in and out of the house all day replacing outside box and inside panel with as little disruption to us as possible. Tom kept us updated on progress, encouraged our questions and welcomed our checking in on the work as it progressed. It was as pleasant as a day with workers in and out of your house could be. Plus, since the power was already out and they were here all day, we had asked to add in some of those small electric projects in the house that often never get done. They completed all of them including some undercabinet lighting in a snack area which looks fantastic. Cant stress enough how professional and respectful of our home they were."

"I called a few plumbing companies on Angie's List for a rough estimate of the repair cost. A few gave quotes for replacing both the flush valve and the flapper fill valve. A few said they did not do quotes over the phone. Which I understood. After talking to a few of the plumbing companies, I chose Dave Kerr, owner of Twin City Pipeworks. Dave came out and replaced the flush valve gasket. He said the flapper fill valve was still good unless I wanted it replaced he could do that. I stayed with the flapper valve I had. Dave also checked my other toilet and my water meter. Everything was good there. Twin City Pipeworks also offered a $25 coupon for Angie's List members that I used. I was very happy with Dave's service, the cost, his promptness, honesty and cleanliness. I highly recommend Twin City Pipeworks and Dave Kerr, the owner!"

"Even though I have read some negative comments about their plumbing's prices, I wanted to give them a chance as I had a fairly good experience on the HVAC side. Unfortunately, I am afraid the comments were right! I called them for a leak in my basement related to a water drain from the second floor bathrooms. Before starting, Matt explain to me he had to go through a "pluming diagnostics" of the entire house and systems that is a flat fee of $497 (based on the age of the house) for: Unlimited Time to find the problem, One level 1 to 2 repair included with diagnostic, performance check, whole home water quality analysis, including chlorine, water hardness, and total dissolved solids, confirmation that system is safe, reliable, and energy efficient, Applies to equipment 6-20+ years old, main drain, water pressure/water temperature over 1500 sqft, tankless water heater. Basically a fee to "find the leak" and anything else that could be wrong in my house in order to give me suggestions for additional repairs that go on top of the "diagnostic fee", unless it is a level 1 or 2 repair that you probably never have anyway...! I my case Matt's listed 3 options: - $4.193 (repair copper drain, new washing machine hoses, install pressure valve and new 50 Gal water heater) - $1.467 (repair copper drain, new washing machine hoses, install pressure valve). Meaning $2.726 for the water heater alone. Or $631 (repair copper drain, new washing machine hoses). Meaning $836 for the pressure valve alone! I told him I could do the machine hoses myself and asked him how much it would be just to fix the leak => $364. That means the charge to change 2 $10 hoses is $267!! By the way, they don't deduct the $79 service call if you are not part of the Membership Program, charge an additional $14 for "Transfer Fuel Surcharge" and didn't discount the $50 coupon. Bottom line my invoice was $497 + $79 + $14 + $364 = $954. Fortunately, I talked to Kristy from Customer Service the following day and got the $50 coupon applied and got an additional $50 off after my open and direct discussion with her. Thank you Kristy. Still, I believe the all process was a bit complicated for a leak and would have to try a different plumber next time. Further more, what's going on with the "Plumbing Diagnostic" fee if they have to come again later on during the year for another issue? I surely wouldn't need another "check" of my entire house..."
