"My husband and I came across 7th State Builders online. Eddie came out to our home for our initial consultation. He was punctual and professional. He listened to our vision and took the time to draw out a plan and explain the process. He was very knowledgeable and made some great suggestions. We decided to do a big project at our home. For the back: a rebuild and waterproofing of our previous deck and a large patio to go underneath it with a fire pit and sitting wall. The front of our house needed some repairs so we had them redo our sidewalk in the same patio pavers from the back. The whole area in front of our garage was cut out and they put in new concrete and leveled it out. They rerouted our gutters to prevent flooding as the previous design was doing damage to our foundation. The owner, Chase, was very hands on and kept us updated the whole time. He frequently made sure we were happy with the way things were going. The whole team made this project an enjoyable experience. Iâ ll admit, my husband and I can sometimes be difficult people to please-But wow!! They really knocked it out of the park for us! 7th Stateâ s precision and talent is unmatched. You are truly working with people that know what they are doing and they are the best at what they are doing. Communication from start to finish was consistent and open. They were very patient with our ideas and they added to our vision in ways we didnâ t think was possible. The whole crew was professional and extremely hardworking. On every area of this project they went above and beyond. The transition of starting another area after the completion of another was seamless. "I have a 28 year old asphalt driveway that needed to be resurfaced. He was prompt providing a quote at a fair price compared to three others. His crew did one day of prep work consisting of digging out crumbled/cracked areas and edging the entire 300' driveway. The next day they applied 2" of asphalt and did a perfect job with great attention to detail. Then they cleaned up the whole area and it looks great. "I wasn't happy with him at all. He wanted his money before I had a chance to see the final product. He wasn't honest with me. I told him before he even started the job, I said that job has to be finished when I'm here to see the final product. He agreed to that. Then, the day that he was due to finish, I said, I'm not going to be here. He goes, trust me ma'am, I've been in business blah blah, blah. I'm on Angie's List and my rating is blah, blah, blah. Against my better judgement, I left him a check and the work when I quickly looked at it, it looked alright. upon further inspection, they had messed up and they had put a big hole in the back of the concrete patio. They had fixed it but they did such a lousy job of fixing it, I had to hire another contractor and pay him $200 to fix what they did. The concrete he did for my driveway is already cracking and he just did this work in 2013. I would never recommend him to anybody. He came in over budget which was alright, I accepted that. He did come back to the house. Where I asked him about the area where ti look like he had thrown grout or something in this big hole it had been in, I wish he had told me upfront where we put a big hole in the base of your concrete and this is what we did. He didn't tell me, I found it and asked him about it. I said, I think that should be smooth though and that looks terrible. Oh no, I'd leave it along. I just went and hired a guy that's sort of an all-purpose handyman that I knew. It took him four hours and he charged me $200 to smooth over the big clump of it looked like grout to me that the guy had just put over to cover the big hole. The only nice things I have to say about the man is that when I asked him questions, he did come back to my house and looked at the concrete. He was polite but I just wasn't happy with the work he did."
